No Ked, I was single for plenty of other more disreputable reasons than spending too much on audio.
The Western Electric 242s also glowed in operation and I am sure the AN Moly tubes do as well.
In Munich The left tubes in the amp were the ER888 drivers which run at much less current and plate dissipation than the output tube on the right (ER284). Hence no glow in the driver

Justin, my 1948 GEs are holding up. One joy of this hobby, is looking at these tubes that have been to Hell and back many times in their 7 decades of life. And STILL going strong as I assault their sensibilities w the world's most unfashionable music. And every day they play ball.
Why would I dump them for new production tubes? I can't come up w any compelling reasons just yet.
Ked, you're saying Amperex 211s beat Pvsane Molybdenum 211s? These specific ones marketed by AN UK? Or are you comparing to "stock" Pvsanes?
Well, that's really not a suprise. There seem to be some reports floating around the Pvsane Molys reverse that trend. What's the chance of a Pvsane Moly v Mayer Elrog 211 v Mayer Elrog Moly v NOS eg Amerex, GE, UE etc?
Good PointThe amperex is like eye popping wow better over them. Now that Justin has moved to Luxman...
Helpful. Put alongside Vyger v AS v AF0, or MSB Select 2 v Wadax Reference dac non threads.
