Tobian Soundsystems - Switzerland

We are excited to have taken delivery of a jaw dropping demonstration pair of 15FHs. While it was sad to see our demo 12FHs taken away by a customer who didn't want to wait for a new pair to be built we will be demonstrating these beauties for now with an additional set of 12FHs coming in a month. As special as the 12FHs are, even without burn in, these are phenomenal!

Looking forward to demonstrating them to some fellow WBFers in the NY area.

Nice. What's the preamp / amp under the pacific?

VAC Master Reference is the Pre....Power amp no idea and DAC on the picture is Baltic 3 not Pacific

Goran is correct about the VAC Master preamplifier. Amplifier in the picture is Linear Tube Audio's Ultralinear+ and music server is the Taiko Extreme.

We do have a Tobian SC8 preamplifier being wrapped up now as well as a pair of LampizatOr GM70s in the works so we'll be able to demonstrate how these speakers sound with a range of products.

Exciting times to be picking up speed with this brand.

and our additional demo set of 12FHs have shipped! I second guessed my decision on the veneer a few times as we had tended towards lighter finishes, but seeing these finished and oiled I completely stand by the decision!

By early June we will have both the 12FHs and 15FHs available for audition on Long Island, New York. We should also have the brand new redesigned SC8 preamplifier as well.

As some may recall, on a recent east coast swing for Westminster Labs, I had the pleasure of hearing the big Destination Vista Horns driven by their stunning GM70 integrated at Prana Distribution. As my last stop, I had the pleasure of visiting Fred Ainsley (aka Mr. Lampi) at Destination Sound.

While there, we listened to his Tobian12h horns powered by the Westminster Lab Rei monos and matching Questing pre-amp. Plugged into the Westminster gear, the DAC was the imminently affordable but no less excellent Lampizator Amber 4 (pictured below the Westminster Labs Quest balanced pre-amplifier). Cables comprised of Westminster Labs for PCs and Fred's Final Touch Audio cables for the remainder. Rounding things out, the mighty Taiko Extreme furnished the digital.

Fred, you need some vinyl next time:)

I had no idea how the Westminster gear would mate with the Tobian horns. However, I'm glad that Fred and I received a lovely surprise. The speed, dynamics, and tone were all right on, and most of all, the paring was incredibly fun as we traded turns listening to our favorite music. Doubtless, well-executed horns rock in a way few dynamic speakers can match!

Fred, thanks so much for hosting me. I'm hoping there may be some WL solid-state in your future. God knows I need some Lampi in mine!

Well, Gary was not exaggerating the synergy we both heard between the Tobians, Lampizator and Westminster electronics the other day and, after continued discussion over the last couple weeks, we've decided to form an alliance and continue this fantastic affiliation. Beginning in late July, those we have over to audition the Tobian and LampizatOr gear will have the option of hearing the Westminster amplification in the mix as we've taken on this excellent and exciting new line.

The synergy of the product lines is liquid, balanced and resolved with endless power and dynamics.

I look forward to spreading the word of this endgame lineup

Excuse me but what is this, I can not figure out from the photo. It looks like a midrange tap from a synergy style horn but afaik this speaker is a two way.

Thanks for your interest, kodomo.

You are looking at the additional attachment for the horn funnel there.

Private event announcement!

We are very excited to invite our friends at WBF to a private event we will be hosting in Princeton, NJ on October 1, 2022. The Tobian Sound Systems 12FH horn speakers will be in adttendance as will the Tobian SC8 sourced by the LampizatOr Horizon and several other pieces from our portfolio (LampizatOr, Tobian, Westminster, Final Touch Audio). The event will take place in a private residence (shadowlight's home) and will be setup to host several systems and is always a fantastic time.

Please message us for further details and RSVP, but the particulars are as follows:

Start Time: 1pm (As usual, I will have snacks ready with lunch around 2pm or so)
End Time: 6/7pm (will confirm as we get closer)

Family Room Setup: Tobian12FH, Westminster REI Amplifier and Quest Preamplifier, Lampizator Horizon DAC,
Basement Setup: Pure Audio Project Trio15 Horn (working on getting hold of Voxativ drive, baffle and crossover), Lampizator GG2, Vinnie Rossie LIO Integrated
Spare Bedroom Setup: Pure Audio Project Trio10, Onix Integrated amp, Amber4 DAC (this maybe interchanged with LampizatOr's AmberAmp integrated).

We can swap equipment around as we used to during the RAVE hay days after 5pm in basement and spare room setup. So if you are attending and would like to bring equipment around to swap in and out feel free to bring it with you. Basement and spare room setup is mostly my setup with Amber 4 in the spare room provided by Lampizator America team who will be using the family room to show case their offering.

Covid Protocol: I will have mask available for folks who would like to wear one but anyone attending the event is attending at their own risk. I am not responsible for anyone catching Covid or any thing else.

The usual rules about taking shoes off (house slippers are ok), no alcohol or meat applies.

Looking forward to seeing many of you!

For folks coming from out of town:

Closest airport to my place: Newark (EWR) 45/50 minutes north, Philadelphia (PHL) 1/1:15 South and Trenton (TTN) about 25/30 minutes. Only Frontier flies into Trenton but if you do fly into Trenton let me know and we can figure out a pickup for you.
Hotels: search in zipcode 08540

Got a nice parcel from Gunter few days ago in order to compare best of the best NOS 801a globe black plates vs new production Elrog 801a in my SC12 and indeed those Elrogs have nothing to be ashamed of…just beautiful music coming out of them and they do look as top models on top.

Some days are just fantastic when postman rings…in the mailbox Wehrmacht Valvo rectifier from 1942 RGN2504 going into power supply of the SC12 after Gunter does a small surgery to addopt it for this tube type (from 274b). Just love the look/feel of this tube. And by maesto best recti as such (ok, mesh variant is better if you can source it).

I am very disappointed to report this event will need to be rescheduled. Unfortunately COVID has made it's way into our host's home and we will not be able to have the event October 1.

I'm very sorry guys, but we will announce a new date soon.
