Ruggiero Ricci at his best

This is the Heifetz Zigeunerweisen . What a performance, last couple of minutes the speed is enthralling

Sorry for the surface noise, this is a dollar bin level copy. Might have to seek out a better version, or grade.

Sorry I had missed this. This is sounding great. Amazing for such small speakers to produce this with a Koetsu. I see that you upgraded to FR 66s, great arm, how did it differ from your 64s. Like I said on another thread, I heard the Koetsu doing well with a SUT and Glanz. I doubt any other koetsu owner will be able to play the Sibelius like you do.

If you are playing this on 64, would be good to play it back on the 66.

The new horn on top sounds very natural. Would be nice to get a before and after with the system of the new horn and the JMLC horn it replaced.

So, both Bill and I felt that with the new horn it was a bit digital on the videos. Then, Leif did some further adjustments and added an ikeda and it got more natural. The ikeda added weight and made the highs more natural.

the pass is less dense than previous 300b but has more transparency and leading edge

Interesting move by Leif to go First Watt. It would be good to hear the new horn with tube amps again. The speakers look absolutely great with the new horn.

he has both on now. DIYers are always playing. He will now by pass the caps in the first watt and change bias to add energy.

Would be interesting to try a single ended OTL from the likes of Transcendent sound...could be the best of both worlds.

Unfortunately, I don't have the Heifetz RCA LSC2435 LP.

His preamp and speakers are identical to mine. The differences are: his SPU is a Synergy vs. my GM, his tonearm is an RMG309i and I have the original 309. In terms of iron, I use Tamura TKS83s vs. his Hashimoto HM7 SUTs and his SE300B amps are fitted with Hashimoto H30-3.5S while I'm still using Tango NY15s output transformers I acquired in the 90s.

Piazzolla - La Muerte del Angel arranged for piano trio by my friend and colleague, Albert Tiu who's also the pianist in this recording, Sean Katsuyama, cellist and yours truly, Joseph Esmilla violinist. This is from a CD we did for Northbranch records 20 years ago.

This is the video of the same piece.
