Violin music videos

Seems to be this track on Qobuz for those interested: https://open.qobuz.com/track/95681640

And on YouTube:

You can see (hear) that those small bookshelf speakers do a pretty good job but seem to accentuate some frequencies (though of course some of it may be linked to the phone recording). As is often the case, these system videos sound a little rough and crude when you compare them with the track (with headphones...).

Posted in the main to show how well a Japanese mid 60’s 6L6 Integrated can play , and yes I concur with your considerations … there is a faint metalic edge to the upper mid / upper register in the vid that Is certainly not a trait of an AU-111 , like you I suspect that the bookshelf speakers , room acoustic and potentially the recording device are all playing their part in illuminating the recording somewhat .

My golden was born on my birthday. We consider him to be a blessing from our Lord. Another word for our Lord's Blessing is Benediction. So we incorporated Benediction into his registered name, but call him Bene for his everyday call name. He is my little bubba. He goes everywhere with me and does everything with me. He's my listening pal, when playing music. He loves going on adventures with us. He's always at our side supporting and uplifting us, comforting us and loving us :).

I find our relationship with and connection to Lola endlessly fascinating. It is embarrassing how much time I spend on Chat and Grok asking questions about the co-evolution of humans and dogs, and how's it possible to love so much something we can't communicate with in a common language.

That’s because dogs love you unconditionally irrespective of your system. Try a cat, they are more condescending than most audiophiles

Dogs have way better hearing than audiophiles so are unlikely to ever fall for a suspension of disbelief…

and this last part may not even be technically possible

Maybe they don’t like SOD but are up for walking up on the stage for petting

It is truly amazing how much better a dog's hearing acuity is than with humans.

However, with that being said, my stereo system has fooled my Golden Retriever on many occasions. My system images amazingly well. I find that especially when listening to jazz combo's on vinyl (where there may be a piano, acoustic bass, drums, trumpet/trombone and maybe a tenor sax) the distinct instruments are spread out across a wide soundstage. The sound does not appear to be coming from two large speakers at all. Oftentimes, my Golden will be laying in front of my chair and when a different instrument starts taking a solo - he will oftentimes turn his head and look directly at where the instrument is on the perceived soundstage and not at the speakers. It is so fun listening to music with him :) .

Also, before I had upgraded the digital side of my system, he would never listen long with me when I spun cd's (He could tell the difference between the two mediums). To be honest, I wouldn't last long either listening to my old digital, lol. But when playing vinyl, he listens with me for hours at a time - unless my wife temps him away from me . Now with the upgraded digital side he hangs out much longer then prior to the upgrade. That makes me happy!

Best wishes,
Don
