I thought this might interest many WBF members. Its a free event.

The Audiophile Foundation will be hosting a Zoom event with John Curl interviewed by David Gans and Brian Anderson about the Grateful Dead's Wall of Sound system. John participated in the development of the Wall of Sound system which became the blueprint for Rock Concert AV systems as we know them today.

That sounds like it will be an interesting interview, John!

I enjoyed the Zoom meeting last night. Biggest takeaway was John Curl’s comment about a piece of equipment measuring good and sounding bad. Then he took it to Tektronix and found out it actually measured badly.

As a teenager I learned about audio from Tektronix engineers. At the time I was in college playing two sports and moonlighting in the broadcasting industry so if I had measured it would have measured badly too. You have measure the right things.
