The orchestra of the broadcasting station in Hanover was founded in 1950, however the roots of the ensemble reach back to the 1920s, when Hanover's first radio station was started up. Because of the special broadcasting requirements, artistic excellence was desired in a variety of musical styles from the beginning.
The NDR Radiophilharmonie is also held in high esteem internationally as a musical ambassador for Hanover and Lower Saxony. Recently the radio orchestra presented itself on concert tours in Japan and South America, among other places, also giving guest performances at the Pisa Festival, the Norwegian Bergen International Festival or clubhouse concerts in Switzerland.
In October 2011, the orchestra had its celebrated debut at the sold-out Royal Albert Hall in London. Other highlights include concerts at the Wiener Musikverein and the Festspielhaus Salzburg. The ensemble's concerts are broadcast regularly on the radio and can be heard all around the world on the internet.
One of the fine small choirs associated with the branches of Germany's national broadcasting system, the NDR Chorus (in German, NDR Chor, Choir of North German Radio) has an unusually wide range of musical expertise. The choir has been associated with a large number of technically difficult premieres of contemporary works. Based in Hamburg, the choir was founded in May of 1946 by what was then the NWDR (Northwest German Radio). The name was changed in 1955. The impetus for most of the choir's performances in its early years was a radio broadcast in which it would join the NDR Symphony Orchestra;
Is there a conductor or label?And here is a little on the orchestra and choir/soloists.
I haven't come across them before. Wonderful performance. Beautifully recorded.
Here are listening notes again from Primephonic: no affiliation - just where I mainly listen from.

About 150 years ago a man walked into a church in Belgium and sat down to listen to the church organ being played.With fire crackling away, on a rainy and cold Hobart evening, I have playing:
Handel* - Academy Of Ancient Music*, Richard Egarr – Organ Concertos Op. 4
Label: Harmonia Mundi – HMU 807446
We all know this recording from 2008. It is a staple. To my mind recorded a little hot, but who am I to say.
Sometime since I have listened to it, and it is as wonderful as ever. Organ is a little missing in action of course with what I listen with - I could use some bass extension here ....
As I type it is the Concerto in A Major, Op.7, No.2 IV.
