Another album pairing French vocalist with sensitive musicians in good form. No doubts she considered this among the jewels of her performance repertoire that deserved a recording.

Made it all of 10 pages into this year populating favorites as I went. Before calling time to investigate this freshly released 2017 recording.

This is now Egarr's third go at these works - '96 on CC w/ Pieter Wispelwey and '99 on DHM w/ Jaap ter Linden. I own the ECM Kashkashian/Jarrett and Savall's first attempt with Ton Koopman on Virgin but neither of the two above.

Still looking. Recording quality and playing are easily acceptable in this latest pairing. Lacking in interest due to acoustics or more likely instruments used remove it from desire to purchase. I'd be grateful for a nudge more in the direction of Savall (not interested in the Alia Vox) from the large pile of attempts.

The above Album didn't grab my attention, so I let me inspire by your text and had a look at Karkashian on ECM and found the following on Qobuz (96-24) that I find more interesting and captivating:

Admittedly Drei Sonaten für Viola da Gamba und Cembalo is not attention grabbing. Secondly, we have both misspelled her name which is Kashkashian.

Recording Bach's Six Suites for Cello solo on a Viola was a very good career decision for her. This album has found enjoyment across a much wider range of listeners.

Do you gravitate more towards smaller ensemble than orchestral performances?
