Two new releases - album no 11 from Haydn 2032 series ( available on cd, vinyl and also as hires wav SM at Qobuz) and Jordi Savall’s second part of Beethoven Symphonies, now 6-9 , very good recording quality from Aliavox ( also availabe at Qobuz as SM wav 24/88,2)

Looking into Mozart I discovered Jacqueline Du Pré's Birthday was yesterday. Thanks for the help finding an album and artist I never seem to find time to sit down with.
This is the quintessential Elgar (IMO, etc, etc)!
du Pre, Sir John & the BBC Symphony in Prague -- that was a / *the* major event! Enthusiasm and electricity in the air, and the Prague Spring not long after!

Heinrich Neuhaus is his grandfather and he is also directly related to Karol Szymanowski. Rarely heard in the West, he recorded a number of well received discs for Japanese labels.

Recorded live at the 1985 Chopin Competition.
