Streamed in 24-88

Apportioned from booklet essay by Christoph Schlüren
Rosbaud totally agreed with Stravinsky that music could not express anything else but the tonal essence of music and never adopted the inane view according to which all that had to be observed was written down in the notation. Instead, he followed Gustav Mahler’s and Erich Kleiber’s opinion that “the score contains everything but not what is essential”

Qobuz released this wonderful recording today. Warm, lyrical playing with rich piano tone to match. However, I decided to buy the hi-res FLAC version from Presto Classical. I always download files on my office desktop PC, copy the files to an external hard drive, then copy onto my MacBook to play on my stereo. Much to my horror, when I opened the file with my Audirvana playback software, there were no track numbers, many of the tracks just had the tempo indication (adagio, andante, etc.), and they were in random order! They look fine in the Mac's music library, and when I tried copying them to my HP laptop, the exact same things happened: looks fine on the root drive, but all wacky on Audirvana, and only two files were visible with JRiver playback software. I posted on Audirvana's website, but no helpful responses so far, and I wrote Presto, but I won't hear back until at least Monday. Those of you who play files from a computer, have you ever encountered such a problem?

Sounds as if your programs are looking for ID3v(?)UTF-(?) which differs in the files.

If sound is A-OK you can try updating the metadata if it exists in one of the databases. :)

I was able to fix it by manually entering the track numbers, but I had to match the timings to the list on Qobuz since most of the titles were missing.

Inspired by this Album, I searched on Qobuz and found also the Early String Quartet by the Melos Quartett and really liked it.
Listened to it in one go

Now up to your mentioned Middle one and if I like that one as much as the Early one, the Late one will follow ;)

Glad you like it. I enjoyed No.12 from the Late set this morning.
