Tonight I'm keeping it "simple" but simplicity is often anything but. :)

Presented in original version without cello. Striking photographic composition is a very effective portrayal of counterpoint and artistry, concert.

Late afternoon on a chilly but clear Sunday. The word "delightful" comes to my mind. And, not that I don't try to live in the moment, but post-winter solstice in coming soon. :) AKA, let there be more light.

Another stab at early piano recording with the composer playing. Second disc loses the Parisian taxi horns and takes his works into the modern classical performance hall.

Even dug up a mediocre newly released techno song featuring the Clavicytherium I was enjoying this instrument so much last night.

Accwai,

This is an item I can see me buying. A SACD ( with Hybrid ability...)right? So my vintage Kyocera CD Player should be able to read the disc, I would believe.

I find William Byrd's work relaxing...that is the word for it...relaxing. I possess next to nothing of his fine compositions, but I did find the attached CD below at a thrift shop. Have a good & safe evening.

New to me - featuring some of my very favorite instruments containing unusual pairings of cello and organ, in my (limited) experience and quite enjoyable.

Looked right past this both in a listing of new releases and the inexcusable absence of it anywhere on the label's site. If, based on my sample of streaming the third track, you wished for greater exercise of both instrument's powers. This young duo may be to taste.

Yes it's a hybrid. I'm strictly redbook transports and NOS DAC so you shouldn't have problem with this one.

Wow, discogs is normally my last resort and your CD isn't even in there. But, I was able to locate almost all the pieces in Davitt Moroney's William Byrd complete keyboard music set. Nice selection! Your CD's using funny modern English titles so a lot of the track names are a little off but they're probably the same thing. Now about the Phantasm viol consort album, it's highly polyphonic. There seems to be a little severeness to it that isn't in the keyboard works. Could be just me of course. No problem. Just let it sink in and don't be intimidated by the complexity.

Beautiful music played by a beautiful artist gets me every time. If my comment is socio-politically "incorrect" so be it. Full disclosure, I love these works no matter who plays them as long as they are at least competent. :)
