What is the most highly resolving speaker you have ever heard?

I would say high resolving because of lowering the room noise floor through room isolation great , but getting a dead room through lots of inroom absorption no .
Ive tried lots of tweeters incl the costly lightweight ultra stiff diamond and various others and there is not much price performance correlation imo , that would be the easy/logical way but it doesnt work that way

The highest or at least one of the highest resolving ive heard is this
IMO there definetively is a correlation between high resolving and a non resonant/stiff /thick/ heavy LS housing

The most resolving *Systems* I have heard have all been Multichannel. A Datasat RS20i with Dirac into a 13.4 B&W system (and I don't like B&W in stereo at all) was the most detailed, lowest noise floor, top to bottom, excellent dynamics and soundstaging system.

My Infinity IRS V with the new cross over

Wow...somehow i missed the fact (or forgot?) that you owned the big Infinity IRS V...how new is your new crossover? Congrats...if there is a link to your system, please let me know. otherwise...would be interested to hear a bit more of what your system is.

In terms of pure resolution, the Grimm LS1, the LS1 isn't just a loudspeaker though it is a complete system, you just have to add sources of your choice, digital or analogue.
Keith.

I liked those quite a bit at Munich. Much better than I thought they'd be. And they are high res I agree, but not full range enough to resolve low or even not so low bass.

TAD Reference Ones. The beryllium mid and tweeter are unmatched imo.

No doubt about it, the GoldenEar Triton Ones. I was gobsmacked the first time I heard them and still am six months later. Powered sub-woofers to amazing tweeters give full-range sound, great detail in a holographic soundstage, and the greatest bargain in the business although I'd gladly pay twice the price. The reviews are all accurate.

These speakers are one of the best speakers money can buy! In the right room!

My room is difficult to the point where it was necessary to use small, two-way monitors close to the back wall and near a corner. The Triton Ones have no problem coping with those problems since they are very flexible regarding setup.

The Lansche's are very resolving... that PLASMA is FAST.

Hi Peter! Is there any chance you ---{or anyone else here}--- knows what song is being used to audition he Lansche's in this video? That song literally had me mesmerized and would be wonderful to listen to late at night when I'm in a lot of pain....

Hi Peter I finally located the name of that mesmerizing guitar playing. The recording is called Krushevo by Miroslav Tadic and Vlatko Stefanovski and the specific song was titled Jano, Mori! Now if anyone can help me by finding a reasonably priced CD, I'd certainly deeply appreciate it. The only one I could locate was a used CD for $36+ on Amazon and that's just a bit too much...

Couldn't find that exact album and track, but here's another album from the same duo on Tidal which you might enjoy if you have access: https://listen.tidal.com/artist/5013833

After many hours working with Marty last night to try to resolve a focal problem blending his Wilson Alexandria S2's and JL Gothams to produce the best sound I have ever heard from his system during the past 40+ years, he and I both agreed last night that the best sound we have ever heard was on Fall night in 1977 at Jon Iverson's design lab and boat storage facility (ever you ever met him this makes total sense) was listening to his "Force Field" speakers driven by his Electron Research amp and custom preamp with a Panasonic strain gauge cartridge. Even though that was 39 1/2 years ago, it still stands out at far and away the best sound ever and substantially better than anything I ever heard with HP at Seacliff.

You've said TWO fascinating things here...the obvious one being the 1977 'Force Field Best Ever' comment. The other, more subtle one is that you've managed to get the best ever sound from Mary's system ever in 40 years from his Alexandria Series 2s plus JL Gothams!!!

If I may take this thread a bit in that direction, please tell us more about Marty's system updates!!! Big fan of Wilsons and Subs...how is it currently setup (crossover, etc)...and how do you compare with his prior legendary system? Thanks for any comments!!!
