Great record.

This doesn't look like the MFSL version, which one is it? I have the MFSL version and LOVE it!

Christian,I think you will like:D

I just heard side A so far before I head back down. First impression sound wise ? The bass could be a bit more extended. For a live recording, I think the black hawk surpasses, recording quality wise. I'm still getting a grip on the music. Most enjoyable so far.

From 1996 ...Very nice. ...His prior album to that was, Dis is Da Drum (1994); which I really like and was the start of a new jazz music exploration for Herbie.
.... 'Jazz Surround'.
And another great album after The New Standard (1996) was, Gershwin's World (1998); and that one is sublime.

I've been listening to and enjoying all of them today. I sometimes forget Herbie has been around as long as he has. Still going strong at 73!

Today is a very enjoyable day for you indeed. ... And Mick Jagger is 70. ...And he can still 'swing'! ...With his body! :b

Yes, I was first introduced to Herbie Hancock back in 1973, with Head Hunters. ...And Herbie is from the Miles's era (they played together, in the early sixties, and afterwards). Back then Herbie was an acoustic jazz pianist, and was part of the Miles Davis Quintet back in 1963. ...Plus much much more.
* Miles Davis was the one who ask Herbie to play for the first time on an electric keyboard, back in 1967 (for a recording). ...Da was the start of the new jazz fusion era. ...The rest is history.

Have a great one Frank! ...The rest of your day. :b
