Very true! First concert I ever went to, 1969, I was 13. My mom dropped my best friend and I off, told us not to do any drugs, picked us up when it was over. Very fond memories.

Don't know if I'm answering your question as you expect but back then mostly concerts at the Filmore East, some at Madison Square Garden and Central Park, a couple at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City. The most memorable though given circumstances was at Roosevelt Stadium on August 8, 1974. What made it memorable was Crosby Stills and Nash were playing. After a tune they announced that word just came in that Nixon resigned his presidency, the crowd went crazy with applause and CSN appropriately immediately broke into Ohio.
