The Conference, on this double album, is my test track for centre imaging and speed of percussion. I use the live cut version from One Zero. He plays it at the end of every gig. He did a show at the Wigmore Hall last year, the first half was film music, the second half album music. Great fun.
I did a thread on the build as I came to this site seeing what @Rensselaer had done. Like him, both my arms (and advice) came from Hugo at Ammonite Audio. Only the Ikeda headshell and 9TS cartridge came from elsewhere (Yodobashi in Tokyo).
I thought I'd start a thread as I'm putting together a 301 using current suppliers. Getting a finished one done would be too easy. So the current state of play is: 1. Donor unit - purchased from Emporium Hifi and sent direct to Ray at Classic Turntable. 2. Classic Turntable Company are building...
I'm visiting in Longview,Texas for the next 2 weeks. Yesterday I spent listening to the local radio stations here - nice classic rock, pop, and oldies stations.
Sadly there's no classical radio stations in the city, or area, of Longview, Texas USA.
Dallas,TX has a really nice classical station that I found that I can live stream on my phone & rental car..
Probably out of range for any of my tuners though..
WRR provides 24/7 classical music, arts and culture news, events, podcasts and more for the Dallas/Fort Worth area and all of North Texas, at 101.1 FM on the radio and streaming worldwide.
After talking about this album over the weekend, I need to dig it out.
So, I enjoyed this tape on my commute to work today, this tape has seen a lot of plays. I usually record albums I really like so I can take it out and about with me, this was recorded near the time it came out, so the tape is about 30 years old. I remember at the time I had a Nakamichi Cassette Deck 1.
Where has all the time gone, fills like it was recorded yesterday.
