DCS Vivaldi

reading some about the dCS Vivaldi and Rossini but not wanting to read all 612 posts in this thread. are there plans for dsd Quad/dsd256 or 512 (or higher) for the Vivaldi/Rossini?

the dCS website only mentions dsd128.

I was told the next release will be to add MQA support. No idea of the timing but that's what they are currently working on.

Is there a new version of Vivaldi with backlit buttons?

I don't think so. I have black and it has silver buttons...guessing that's the lighting the camera caught...

I was thinking lighting also but on all 3 pieces?? Not sure

I recently ordered Vivaldi clock to complement my transport and dac. They did not provide any information about a backlit version. Just asked about color preference.

Did you like your Vivaldi without the clock?

I just looked at my silver Vivaldi....there is no way the buttons and labels would glare like this photo.....

Anyone know why the transport is the tallest (largest) of all 4 items?

It is not only the tallest but also heaviest with a big margin. The mechanism and overall transport are really robust.

+1

PS, congrats on the clock !

My analog is getting dust these days ;-)

I hear you. I love my vinyl still. Just amazed every time I listen to it. Then I switch to digital...

They both have strengths. Well recorded digital on a dCS Vivaldi is just hard to turn off...

Yes, too much late night listening and terrible mornings ...

Two days ago I was talking with Raveen Bawa, dCs' Export Sales Manager, at a presentation at our distributor - they showed Vivaldi silver units with no backlit buttons. They also showed the dCS Network Bridge that is scheduled for the beginning of December.

BTW, Raveen told me that Twonky can now handle DSF and DFF files - I will try it in my NAS soon.

Something is up. There is no way the lettering on my dCS would glow like that. In addition the case in the photo looks darker than the current silver....I'm thinking a tweaked, limited addition type deal in Platinum.

Perhaps it is a black system - it enhances the contrast. Several white parts in the picture are similarly saturated - see the rack's label or the white booklet resting on the DAC.

But the displays look normal as well as the back lit dCS logo.....and the labels aren't white
