Agreed! I definitely can appreciate all of that and hopefully hear it some day. I have read about your earthpin and others but haven't a clue how they work. I'm curious now.

As regards the (importance of the) earthpin and the fact that it helps the Tripoint ‘ground’ stations: may I suggest that you contact Miguel? He can explain much better why an earth rod is beneficial for the end effects of the Tripoint technique.

Hi Dave, how is your ‘Anaconda’ performing in your system?

Rudolf,
I was talking with Miguel over the weekend and told him I believe break-in is finished. I'm somewhere between 300-350 hours and full dynamics have returned and any distortion that was present has been reduced to a level never reached in my system. I hearing things far beyond my walls and the ease and flow make the music sound so organic. Voices have never sounded so natural either, enough change that my wife noticed the other night listening to some female vocalists. Bass is effortless and explosive if that makes any sense. Even at the lowest volume, bass still sounds visceral and extremely tight and focused. Snare and cymbals are much more realistic to my ears as I've been around drums my whole life. There were some nasty moments as you mentioned but well worth it in the end. I'm really happy with the sound right now and may look to replace my CD/DAC in the near future. Hope all is well with you!

Very nice to read that you are experiencing the same major benefits with the Tripoint Emperor mk ii ground cable in your set up as I do in my audio system with my ‘Anaconda’s’. Just to be sure that I understand you correctly, Dave: with my three Emperor mk ii ground cables the musical presentation has inter alia clearly become more explosive / dynamic. And there is - apart from the various important points you already mentioned - clearly more control and command. Do you also experience these musical benefits?

Yes, explosive. Even at the lowest volume, I feel I'm hearing more of the recording and less of everything else. It makes all my music more exciting. Soundstage, depending on the recording, extends far beyond my walls and portrays depth in a more believable way. Effortless control and command. If the Emperor mkii gets better at this point, its just icing on the cake.

Hi Dave, I was wondering whether your 'Anaconda's' have settled yet. And if so, whether your Tripoint Emperor mk ii ground is cable performing casu quo sounding better than your last posts on WBF. Just curious.

Hi Rudolf,
I haven't posted much lately but have been listening as much as I can. I thought I was through the break-in last time I posted but it has improved even more since then which was unexpected. The music continues to sound completely effortless and i am finding it difficult to articulate what I hear. You have mentioned serenity and unmechanical sound, and I feel like these aspects continue to improve beyond my expectations. Quiet moments in songs have so much more impact followed by huge dynamic swings, it really makes everything more engaging. Whatever distortion was there has faded to blackness and I'm left with sound I really like. I also started noticing recording quality differences more easily. Great recordings truly shine. How are things on your end? Anything new in the works?

Super happy for you because if I understand you correctly your audio system - like mine - sounds better than ever before after inserting Miguels Emperor mk ii ground cable.

And yep, I am working on a few changes casu quo additions as regards my Tidal LA set up. Will report in due time; nothing has been implemented yet I am afraid.

I have had my Troy Elite installed in my system now for almost four weeks. I am amazed at the improvements. EVERYTHING sounds better! Extremely happy with the improvement over the Troy SE. I sure hope more people learn about what the best grounding is capable of. It's just takes the music to such another level. I feel that so many are missing out.

Enjoy the Music!

John,
Congrats! I haven't been thinking about upgrades since the Emperor cable settled in, just enjoying the music for now. What did you notice right out of the box and how has the Elite improved over the last 4 weeks? If you ever feel like the life has been stolen from the music, just reconnect the grounding cable that came loose.

Dave,
At first it was just different sounding. I really couldn't put my finger on what was going on. After fifteen minutes I could tell that voices were more natural sounding. It was a little all over the place for awhile though. At times I heard hardness or everything had a glare to it. I have not heard any hardness for over a week now. Instruments sound like they are in the room. I think for me the most notable thing is even when I try to evaluate changes, I end up lost in the music and just not caring because I am enjoying what I am listening to. That's a great sign!

I'm happy you're enjoying it. I remember hard edgy sound during break-in, but I haven't heard any since then. One of the first things that impacted me about the sound was how explosive it became. Guitar and drums still feel alive in my room. Enjoy!

Anyone heard or have information about the Troy Elite NG, the new flagship??

Troy Elite NG (NG=New Generation) is a new Tripoint flagship grounding station that replaced the Emperor. It’s a 10 year Anniversary, Audio Exotics exclusive product that will be made in limited quantities.

Troy Elite NG is quite different from previous Tripoint grounding devices. The departure from African Bubinga chassis to metal is only the most obvious. The Elite NG is also smaller than the previous flagship Emperor, more compact and extremely heavy (160 lbs). No, not a typo. 160lbs and consequently almost impossible to manage without a second pair of hands. The construction, precision, finish and execution is on a highest possible level. A real beauty. And a beast. Photos really don’t do it justice. It comes as standard with a Thor SE power chord (with Oyaide P-079 male plug) and four silver grounding cables. Oyaide don’t make (yet!) European shuko version of superior AP004 plug so this upgrade was unfortunately out of consideration.

My Elite NG came with superior Emperor power cable (as extra) and I also bought two Emperor Mkii grounding cables with it. These new flagship grounding cables were connected to main units of Zanden 1200 mk3 phono stage and 3000 mk2 line stage, regular silver cables went on conrad-johnson ART mono blocks.

I visited Hong Kong and Chris Leung of Audio Exotics a few years ago and I’m not sure I would buy the Elite NG if he wouldn’t demonstrate his system to me and my friends. After the demo of AE truly superb system (and a few special “tricks” Chris performed for us) it became crystal clear Troy Signature is not the end of the road and that much more is possible with the upper range of Tripoint grounding products.

I used Troy Signature (with standard grounding cables) and one Thor SE in my system for years before upgrading to Troy Elite NG and Emperors mkii but the level of improvement this combo brought to the sound of my system is simply staggering. Now I understand Audiocrack’s feelings and enthusiasm and don’t think he exaggerated one bit!

To be continued.
