Woofer And Tweet

Interesting mixing of mediums, like more than one person involved.

I like them, thanks for posting them.

I play with gouache paint as often as I can to color my architectural hand renderings and site plans.

Back on topic; the physics is against us.

Naturally radiating sound (180 radiation) in a small room makes one aware of the room.

Artificially narrow beaming of sound makes the room go away but is unnatural.

An over simplification, but that's the general idea of our dilemma- yes?

Thanks very much for the comments; I'm glad you like them.

When developing a "look" for Woofer & Tweet, I felt a typical cartoon would be for audio hobbyists, and that audiophiles needed it kicked up a bit. I always liked watercolors, so decided to mix the two formats. I still cheap out occasionally and leave out the background. It is what it is ;-)

I'll bet the color renderings are very impressive to your clientele. As much as I like Ansel Adams, there is an appropriate time for color.

As far as the radiation patterns are concerned, there are many who understand this stuff far better than I. I'm the one that just makes fun of it all . . . hopefully.

I get what you are doing, and the joy is in the doing.

I once asked my college instructor why his course was called "Life Drawing" in lieu of "Still Life" or "Drawing Naked People at 8:00 AM", and he said it is because we experience life as we draw. What a great answer, thank you professor Takahashi .

The parody of the piano in the room verses the stereo speakers is on-track with what I was describing.

The piano suffers from the room as it cannot over come it and cannot sound like it is in a great performance hall.

The stereo system/speaker has the hall ambiance encoded into the playback medium and can attempt to reproduce it.
