New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

He talked sense here. 3 months is a long time in the number 1 hotspot in the US. Silver really was going up against very big and serious odds here. Makes the term 'swimming upstream' seem like an understatement.
But Phil if the security of the bubble is such then the only way it comes into the bubble as I see it is if a person or persons escape from the bubble for a hop around town, which I honestly can't see.I wouldn't want to be the player who tests positive and brings the house of cards crashing down. That asterisk after the payer's name would be a life long blemish

That's true, Steve, and that's the best case scenario. But I read that family members can start entering the bubble in the second round. That is a possible source of 'entry'.

That's true but they aren't allowed into the bubble until tests are negative

Tough for me to imagine that the world has come to this and we wackadoodles are only interested in seeing this season through.Until there is a vaccine sporting events will never be the same

No one escapes this virus

Russell Westbrook says he tested positive for coronavirus

Houston Rockets guard Russell Westbrook shed some light Monday regarding his absence from the team at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in the Walt Disney World Resort by revealing he tested positive for Covid-19 prior to the club’s departure for Orlando, Fla.

Westbook posted the revelation to Twitter and Instagram.

“I tested positive for Covid-19 prior to my team’s departure to Orlando,” Westbrook wrote. “I’m currently feeling well, quarantined and looking forward to rejoining my teammates when I am cleared. Thank you all for the well wishes and continued support. Please take this virus seriously. Be safe. Mask up!”

The first one out ......

Sources: Houston Rockets' Bruno Caboclo breaks quarantine

Houston Rockets forward Bruno Caboclo unintentionally broke quarantine, making him subject to an extended quarantine period and enhanced coronavirus testing, league sources told ESPN.

After players entered the league's bubble at the Walt Disney World Resort last week, anyone caught leaving for an unauthorized reason or breaking the initial quarantine period (which included being confined to a hotel room until passing multiple coronavirus tests in a longer-than-24-hour span) was subject to the league's reentry protocols.

That means undergoing enhanced coronavirus testing -- testing with the long swab up the nose, as opposed to the less invasive tests players are getting during their time in the bubble -- in addition to a 10-day quarantine period in their hotel room.

Caboclo left his room during the initial quarantine period, a source said. He was unaware that he was not allowed to do so, despite the league informing all players and staff of the protocol.

"He should've known," the source said. "It was no secret."

Sources told ESPN that Caboclo's time in quarantine is now down to eight days. He is expected to rejoin the team once his quarantine is complete.

First injury, surgery and out for 6-8 weeks. Doesn't bode well for the Lakers without Rondo and Bradley

What Rajon Rondo's injury means for the Lakers' title chances in the NBA restart

What does Rajon Rondo's injury mean for the Los Angeles Lakers' chances in the NBA restart?

The Western Conference's leading team suffered the first injury since teams began practicing at the ESPN World Wide of Sports Complex outside of Orlando, Florida, with Rondo fracturing his right thumb in practice on Sunday. Rondo will undergo surgery and is expected to miss six to eight weeks, sidelining him at least through the start of the postponed 2020 playoffs.

Oh Boy........

I’d hate to see more injuries from what to me is a rushed disconnected “championship” that carries about as much weight as the all star game.
I went to a couple raptors games in late 2019, and that feels completely discontinuous with whatever is going on now in Florida. Like this has zero to do what the games played through early March.

Which West team would be the biggest threat to the Lakers as an 8th seed?

As much as I would like to seee that happen, there are just too many variables and for me I believe upsets will occur. What better team to take it to the Lakers than the Pels. That would be an upset that would rock the league and show the Pels are for real

James among NBA stars supporting under-fire ESPN reporter

From the "King" of social media

Los Angeles (AFP) - Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James offered a tweet of support Sunday for ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski, who has reportedly been suspended for a vulgar response to an email from a US senator.

James joined other NBA players in tweeting "#FreeWoj" on Sunday, two days after Wojnarowski himself posted an apology on Twitter for his comment to Missouri Senator Josh Hawley.

The New York Post reported that ESPN had called off their reporter's planned travel this week to the NBA's "bubble" site in Orlando, Florida, where they plan to resume the coronavirus-disrupted season at the end of the month.

The Washington Post reported that the suspension would last one to two weeks and Wojnarowski would travel to the bubble at a later date.

The trouble blew up on Friday, when Hawley wrote an open letter to NBA commissioner Adam Silver in which the senator criticized the league's relationship with China and called on the league to allow players to put messages in support of the military, police and Hong Kong protestors on the backs of jerseys.

The letter came after the NBA announced it would allow players to put certain phrases on their uniforms in support of the Black Lives Matter movement when the season resumes.

Wojnarowski responded to the email press release that Hawley's office sent to him, writing "F--- you," but without barring out the expletive.

Hawley then shared that response on Twitter.

"I was disrespectful and I made a regrettable mistake," Wojnarowski said in a statement Friday. "I'm sorry for the way I handled myself and I am reaching out immediately to Senator Hawley to apologize directly.

"I also need to apologize to my ESPN colleagues because I know my actions were unacceptable and should not reflect on any of them."

ESPN said in its own statement Friday that the comments were "completely unacceptable behavior" and that they would address the matter internally.

I guess it means, Steve, that anything can happen during the games. These 2 were tested prior to departing for bubble and it's a puzzle where or how the virus got in.

As much we want to see the games, the distraction is a very formidable opponent.

They have to test everyone, not only players but everyone in that bubble. Perhaps the two who tested positive cane in contact before leaving for Orlando and the first test was too early
