I am using some small Entreq minimus boxes, but mainly the Telos GNR active grounding. What do you guys use for grounding boxes?
I also grounded all peripheral devices, such as router, LAN isolator and Power supply for the router.
I'm genuinely interested in the science behind how / why grounding boxes work, over and above tying the grounds of a system to a common ground. I've just read Roy Gregory's glowing review of CAD's latest £20k box but nowhere is there an explanation of the engineering / physics behind why it works.
I've tried both Entreq and CAD in my system with no noticeable difference. Maybe I should just consider myself lucky and move on, but would love to know what I'm missing with regard to the science.
If we are really interested in the science behind most of these thinks, the first think we should do is changing their name - most times they do not work as grounds. Do not expect a general theory on them, at best we can address what some specific device is doing in a particular system.
During a hifi show I was at a demonstration of a CAD box when playing a bob dylan song, without it was harsh, with it was perfectly balanced (could have done a blind test on this without failing). So, it did stay in my mind for all this time, but there was also another thought that when the CAD was connected, it was connected to several compoments and in this way it was actually also creating a "star-grounding" between the units or at least having the cases connected which usually evens out the voltage differences between the housings and currents flow (depending on how the signal ground is also connected to the casing/mains, since this is also a connection).I'm genuinely interested in the science behind how / why grounding boxes work, over and above tying the grounds of a system to a common ground. Now, the only proof if they work (for one of us and our specific systems / ears), is to try it in a blind test but up till now I did not find an easy and free way to get such an antenna with rocks box to try it and return it free of charge....And the prices are high enough to suppress my reflex just to buy one and put it aside if it doesn't do anything for my and my set up...
