Lampizator Valve / Tube Rolling Review Thread

Mine is 45 EML Globe even though we are talking RK
You mean your EML 45 Globe failed or the EML 45 Globe is your favorite?

I have the very rare EML 45 mesh Anniversary Globes but in my systems I prefer other tubes, so they get very little play time.

EML 45 mesh Anniversary Globes yes my favorite tube so far , would like to try WE 300B Reissue
Also mine . Thanks to Ked btw .
KR PX 25 is my second best choice - thanks to Christoph:)
KR 242 were very good - dynamic and transparent but with too much gain in my systems with AGs, even with Pacific set on low gain position.
One of my KR 300 B RK failed after 7 months , RK 5u4g and other KR tubes did not .

One word- beautifuI- comes to mind. WE 300bs are coming into their own. I’d say roughly 175 hrs now and several on/off cycles. Cymbals are like a splash of water, mids are opening nicely and 3D, bass tuneful and detailed and thumps when appropriate . No trace of etchiness.

Still have Tak 274b in as rect- and it’s still breaking in as well.

Boston - first two albums - Tom Scholz’ guitar and Brad Delp vocals, not to mention Fran Sheehan bass - sublime. I can crank it but don’t necessarily have to.

This is why I love tubes.:):):):)

No tube for the Lampis produce better mid range.

The 242 don't sound right in your set up, so that is not representative of how they sound. I thought the PX25s did not sound like they should either. PX25 sounded sublime with UK Paul's Martin Logan set up where he used concert fidelity electronics. The Lampi 45s did not sound right in Christoph's when I heard them in his set up then with the Odeons. They sounded really good in yours. There are all downstream electronic matches.

This is why a good collection of differing triode choices is very important.

Any changes downstream will almost certainly change your choice of favourite triodes.

This shelf is a excellent idea for decoration
Way to small for you my friend - you need an entire wall minimum :D

All my tubes are neatly organized in boxes. I like the wall display much better.

For those keeping score on KR

Pacific: RK PX25 - about 5000 hrs. Going strong, run about 110 degrees F
Pacific: RK 5u4g - just changed after about 3500 hrs., new one sounds about the same, old one is just a touch softer

Allnic M2500: KR PX25 p-p - about 2500 hrs, run about 155 degrees F, going strong
Allnic M2500: KR 5u4g - about 2000 hrs., run 165 degrees F, strong

One KR PX25 died at under 100 hrs.

I like the KR/RK because they are transparent and extended. Most NOS sound rolled off and mid-rangy in comparison.

However, my second favorite Pacific rectifier is an RCA globe 80. Injects lushness in a favorable way.

I need to collect some PX25 for my amps If anyone has unloved pairs. B4 or UX4 Are OK.
