Lampizator Valve / Tube Rolling Review Thread

You mean your EML 45 Globe failed or the EML 45 Globe is your favorite?

I have the very rare EML 45 mesh Anniversary Globes but in my systems I prefer other tubes, so they get very little play time.
Would you care to describe what it is about them that causes you to prefer others more, and which ones you do prefer more? I was considering them for my GG2 so I’m curious.

No tube for the Lampis produce better mid range.
Than which one?
EML 45 mesh Anni Globes or the WE reissues?
Can't you guys please quote when responding?

The EML 45 mesh AGs are less transparent and less dynamic than my other favorites in my systems.
Maybe I will try the EML 45 mesh AGs again some time to confirm (again) or deny (for the first time)...

Does this include the Taka 300Bs?

Yes. I haven’t listened to them in a while but I never found them to be great in the Pacific. One of these days I will put them back in.

Thank you, and what ARE your favorites?

I had a dear guest over the WE at my place and we rolled a lot of output tubes in the main system.

We gave the EML 45 mesh AGs another shot.

To make it short: the EML 45 mesh was not bad (it was in the top third) but we had tubes we preferred by a BIG margin, like the RK 242 and the PX25.

This was in my main system (see on the avatar on the left), to our ears and our tastes

What preamp was this with

Each tube type has a sound over all
and in a Lampi it’s bit more complex due to how they use them. the globes add holographic sound at the expense of noise floor. at least this is how I hear them.

For me, in my system, the EML 45 mesh AG sounds somehow hollow in the mids, over all too soft and lacks dynamics, compared to my personal favorite tubes, the RK 242 and the PX25

That's how I heard it in your system with the other preamp but overall when 45 sounds good I prefer it musically to the PX25

We will have shortly slighty different preferences with Horizon ;)

You ordered one
Do you use and love the EML 45 mesh AGs with the Ayon Crossfire 3 integrated? Or was that with your summer amp?
I could try the AGs in the C3 as well :)

WE 242c is a substitute for 211.

KR 242 is a replica of telefunken 242. It was first done for Allnic, because Allnic was using it in their top of the line DHT phono (5000, now the 8000)

Have you ever heard the Telefunken RS242s in a Pacific?
