Wow...thanks for that! Best wishes with the Entreq now that everything is back in order.

If they work anything like the demagnetizer Zerostat, I would say from my experience categorically do not do it. But I have no idea how the ozone generator works...if it has anything to do with ions (and potentially positive/negative charges)...I would ask Per Olof.

Lloyd
Per Olof replied, but he did not know the answer, so he basically said what I did, which was to move the Entreq boxes out of the room before treatment.

He didn't think it would effect them, but was not 100% sure it would not, so better be cautious than sorry.

Good news! You clearly took the right precautions...hope the settling in goes well. Would be curious if you find mass damping of the grounding boxes works well also. Heard earlier today from someone who tried it on his Entreq grounding boxes with success.

Damping the Entreq cabinet would help I imagine. I have not tried it. Right now just have the Entreq sitting on the Magma footers, and those sitting on top of the Panzerholz platform, which is isolated from the below shelf via Solid Tech IsoBlack footers. So a combination of isolation and vibration management. Entreq has mass damping products but I have not seen those in use in their demo room in their website.

Quite robust isolation! Do let us know if you try mass damping. Their products work, but I have used HRS and Artesania damping plates...and then put heavy weight (65kg) on top...sometimes with damping plates ON TOP of the deadweight to avoid any ringing of the dead material itself.

For those using Entreq wraps ... Compared the older AC Silver wraps to the new Infinity Wraps Copper ... Much lower noise floor, which is easily discernable . Promoting a fuller harmonic structure. Haven't yet compared the Silver old to the Silver Infinity. Worth investigating for current users. Cheers.
Hey Jazzhead,

Hope all is well...have you tried the new Entreq Tungsten wraps? Just put some in...really liking them in comparison with the Silver tellus wraps. Not sure I have heard the Infinity wraps.

The Magma Tungstens and 2nd set of Magma Slim Tungstens arrived yesterday. Installed the Magma Tungstens under the Pluton which rests on the Panzerholz platform.

The Magma Tungstens do make a significant difference when under the Pluton. The naturalness of the presentation went up several notches and the music seemed to slow down with the notes just hanging there in the air for me to savor. It's really something.

When the Entreq boxes arrived, I took out all the Chinese ground boxes and put them in the closet. I figured the Entreq sounded good enough I didn't need the Chinese ones anymore. The other night I decided to pull them out and connect them to the extra terminals on the Entreqs and use the extra spare Everest plugs on those terminals.

More testing is needed but after 24 hours, I feel the Chinese boxes, plus the Everest knobs, have pushed up the performance about 10%-15%.

I just discovered It was a mistake to use the better Entreq H/RCA cables on the amp instead of the DAC. I took one of the Apollo Infinity Eartha off the amp, and used it to replace the Apollo Silver that was on the DAC, and I was quite shocked how much better it was. I didn't think the DAC would benefit as much as the amp, so I put the better cables on the amp. So now I have to wonder if the DAC would benefit from a Triton or Olympus.

Interesting...on the one hand, I could imagine that different designs react differently. That said, I have found that the Zanden DAC (main DAC and PSU) also seems to benefit more from isolation, grounding (cabling has always been pretty consistent across the board) than the amps...certainly the Gryphons revealed far more minor changes...the Robert Kodas revealing much more but perhaps still not as much as the DAC and DAC PSU.

Of course, now that you may be extracting more out of your source, will going back to higher quality cables in the amp move you up yet again? ;) Ahhh...ever the way...

I could believe this...if the original Chinese designs were good, even if they were not at the level of your Entreqs, 'more' could be better. There is one key issue which is whether there are 2 different ground planes now with the differently designed boxes? I am no techie, so only a non-technical question. Or by reinforcing the main grounding boxes with these Chinese boxes (rather than connecting some equipment to one, and other equipment to the other) are you creating ONE 'blended' ground plane which perhaps is better?

I will have to revisit this because I wanted to take a step back (removed the Chinese boxes) and retest the cables (swap the silver for the Apollo Infinity) which I already did, and next will be to remove the extra Everest caps on the Pluton, and reevaluate, lastly I want to see if the Pluton (which is grounding the Amp) benefits more by the Magma Tungsten, or would the Apollo Infinity Tungsten, which is grounding the DAC, and currently is using the Magma Slim, benefit more by using the Magma Tungsten. If would be simpler if I had lots of Olympus and Magma Tungstens, but I don't, so I just have the find the best place for what I have at the moment.

Update. Swapping the Magma Slim Tungsten for the larger Magma Tungsten under the Apollo Infinity Tungsten (DAC) resulted in a much better texture and fullness in the instruments and a bit more emotional connection.

I have an extra set of Eartha Apollo cables H/H , I was thinking of what to do with them? Should I try connecting those on top of the Eartha Olympus cables (a double cable run). From the negative binding posts on the Amp, to the unused L/R terminals on the Pluton?

Dual cable runs have any benefits?

Another thought - I already have a Eartha Apollo going from the RCA on DAC to the Olympus infinity T Terminal. It was before suggested a H/H Eartha cable can still be used on an RCA connector because it was hook was pliable. If that works I could run a second Apollo from the DAC to the second terminal on the Olympus infinity T. Thoughts on that?

Interesting...

Pure guess? I would guess the best use would be to use the cable to ground another piece of equipment, or ground the signal of a unit if you are already grounding the chassis, or vice versa.

Or alternatively, use the cable to take advantage of the fact that you have unused grounding terminals on your Entreq and connect two terminals to a signal piece of equipment.

I think I am just going to try it and see.

Let us know what you find!
I have the DAC connected with two Apollos now. I will let it settle for a few days, then remove the hook one to see if I loose anything. I believe there is a noticeable improvement but will wait for the final test of removing it to see what that result is. If dual runs is better than one, then removing the second hook should be very noticeable after.

Great. Enjoy.
There do seem to be favorable differences by adding the dual run connections. Listened to one track tonight, then removed the second cable, and then listened again. The musical nuances are better, more natural and fleshed out using the dual cable setup.

Now, the final test, put the cables back, but this time, make the dual pair, a braided dual pair by twisting the two cables together. Just did that and plugged it back in. Will be listening to that configuration for the rest of the night.
