Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

I only looked at a handful of albums but they seem to lack the details of the digital file set including what original recording was used and how the transfer was done.

""We guarantee 100% fully tested, native and true 24bit Studio Masters"

Lifted off their site.

I'm reading up within the site. There seems to be a fare amount of tech and marketing...
It can't hurt to try for free for 7 days.
It seems it's only avail in the EU..

Has anyone tried the site?

@Taiko Audio I've been recopying my files to the Extreme and it's on the 12th hour so far lol.

Is the new network card capable of 10G if I temporarily plug in a 10Gbase-T copper transceiver just to speed up file copying? I'm used to 10G speeds elsewhere in my house so this is painfully slow, haha!

Hello, I have two conditioners, when I switch to them the Taiko I have Hum on both of them. Would like to soluce this. I have a dc blocker and when I use it no more noise. It's hard for me to understand that a Taiko at is price can do Hum when my other machines not. If you can help me

Hi Emile @Taiko Audio = For the Extreme, which Audioquest power cable makes more sense, high variable current or constant current source? Thanks for your thoughts on this!

I hear you…but, IMHO, you are lucky to be in the queue! As you may know already, Taiko works around the clock, soliciting extremely hard to find materials/parts/cases/finishes etc. and they can only control their supply chain as much as they can. Currently, lead times are up to 8 weeks (as highlighted in bold on their website when ordering); however, I surely wouldn't feel too disappointed by an extra week or two with the next Taiko SQ jump approaching your doorstep to take your system into the next stratosphere. Many of us are in the same position (switch, NIC, router, PD all fully paid for here and eagerly awaiting).

Personally, I am on this train for the long haul, an absolute privilege, and have grown to appreciate that an extra week or two for the final kink or two to be smoothed out is well worth it. Just IMHO FWIW and not trying to take away from your feelings.
There is no question. I was being a whiny bitch. On the other hand my ship date became a moving target. First late April, then May 2, May 5, May 8 and now It was at least May 15. I did not want to see it become June. So now, I will receive it 8 weeks after ordering it when the lag time was supposed to be 5 weeks. I realize that Emile and Taiko are doing yeoman's work, and I am very grateful for their dedication.
I feel, nonetheless, that it was reasonable to hold them to their stated timetable.

That would’ve been nice now, but I’m afraid it’s a fixed 1Gb!

Thank you, Dave, for the archival deep dive! Normally, AQ suggests the high current pc for amps which have to accommodate sudden changes in power demands. Is the Extreme subject such fluctuations?

It has a power amplifier size power supply. It sounds dull and constrained with the AQ source powercords versus the HC powercords.

Unfortunately the chassis part finishing of the process is out of our hands, we’ll consider adding a few weeks to the estimated time to ship but have actually been trying to be accurate till now.

We have no solution for DC on the powergrid, it will hum and become very inefficient and suddenly will not be oversized anymore, but working hard to supply the necessary power. Well ofcourse we have battery power solutions coming up. But till then the only solution is DC filters or Isolation transformers.

I have the same issue (although it is intermittent). Which DC blocker are you using?

I was thinking about something I could use directly at the wall plug of my Niagara 5000 conditioner, which faintly hums as well, to silence both conditioner and Extreme.

I use this for DC. Installed on the powerline .
But DC is usually on and of during playback ( it fluctuates ) so if it is permanent it might be something else.

You might have a ground loop that can give simmilar effect.
please try to disconnect everything from extreme ( DAC cable and USB cable ) to check if there is any change or not .

I feel your pain. I placed my order on Feb 14th and also asked about the status. I haven't gotten notice yet, but as long as they haven't misplaced or forgotten about the order I'll be OK. But I empathize. I feel a little like I did when I was a kid and would race home from school to see if Strat-O-Matic Baseball had come in the mail.

I'm working on isolation for my Extreme and was wondering if anyone has a Daiza platform they are no longer using. Please PM me if you do.
