It's a good idea and one would think such an expensive amp like Jadis should have done that in the first place. It would also mean boring holes into the chassis which to some owners would be turn-off.
If the base plate is perforated with holes for ventilation. Then you could put a small switch hidden there. Remove it when selling but I don't know what it looks like from below.

If you ever felt so inclined, Ron, and the required modification to enable tube rolling is as simple as a different cathode resistor, a tech could (inexpensively) install a toggle switch or pair of switches to enable you to switch between kt150 mode and el34 mode easily.

This is a thoughtful suggestion! I actually have no interest in KT150s or KT120s. My understanding is that these tubes offer deeper bass extension and better low frequency "control" than EL34 or KT88.

But in my idiosyncratic configuration all I care about is midrange and treble -- hence my focus on EL34.

You should look at Thrax 300b hybrids.

Correct, small holes are needed. It's probably possible to neatly hide the switches on the back panel out of site, however.

I would never modify the amplifiers in that way and kill re-sellability.

Why? If I were interested in a hybrid, which I am not, I would go directly to Absolare Hybrid Monos.

Or do you mean Thrax Spartacus, which is not a hybrid?

My understanding was that the price of these monos would be prohibitively expensive...maybe not... they are pure tube though.

That is why I suggested the VAC PHI 70 if it can be found.

I heard the 100w one, that was a hybrid. Spartacus is 50w, you can try that as well. And Absolare. Try all of them.

They aren't hybrids. Other Thrax amps are. Thrax is proud of the fact that the amp is in fact a pure 300B tube amp..no other tubes used in the amp.

I appreciate the suggestions, but my ideal experimentation decision tree forward is clear:

-- Jadis JA200 with EL34

-- Absolare Push-Pull

-- Mastersound PF100

-- high power SET (833 or GM100 or Eimac 450)

Do you think a Go Fund Me page would work so I could purchase all three at the same time? ("Starving audiophile seeks dream amplification comparison . . .")

Sorry, the Heros is not 300b. That was the preamp I heard. Confused it

but then you can get the 300b pre, and Heros or Spartacus depending on what drives

Great idea! Would you please put me on the Desai family payroll?

While waiting for enough money to buy all of the amplifiers I could propose for the family each day a stereo system derived from theory and triangulation.

You are doing this for free right now anyway where amps and valve rolls are concerned.

The Thrax chain is extremely good.

I think about half the power of the JA100s is going too light. I think I don't want to go below 80 watts.

If I were open to 50 watts I would go right to Absolare SET.

Actually, I forgot about Absolare Push-Pull! I just added that to my list.

Yeah, since you're not interested, it's moot but you could employ 5-pole switches. If it's 10 power tubes per channel (?) then you would need 2 switches per channel, or one switch if it's 5 per channel.

You are welcome

However, the truth is, unless I actually try 50 watts I cannot be sure. But Don and I both have the feeling independently that below 80 or so watts would be pushing it.

as you keep going down, you have to know what doesn’t work so that you can focus above that
