I have ordered the Aries Cerat Incito S! (I would have liked to get in house an Impera for a direct comparison, but it was not feasible.)

At half the price of the Incito S my favorite tube preamp is the Trafomatic Audio Lara.

I would've been happy to pay up for the Impera, but I am eating my own cooking (ah, philosophy) here.

I say and write frequently: Do not assume just because it's a higher model that you personally will like it better than a lower model you already like.

My new policy: I would never trade up without a direct comparison in my system or a full refund/return policy.

Exactly. I also frequently say and write that just because the manufacturer of your component came up with a "new and improved" version does not mean that you will like the new model more than your incumbent model.
