Munich HighEnd 2024

Relatively low cost 50 K Range / cone speakers

For loudspeakers i d say wilson sasha DAW ( or probably the new WP thats coming out as better dollar value )
And the magico S3 mk2
(Apart from my own small models off course ;) )

And then put some CAT VTL ARC VAC on them (incl ZANDEN if the power is enough ) a WADAX studio player
No need to spend anymore for high end audio .

100 K -200K range
Kharma exquisite Line , Rockport Lyra . and my XPE own design which is cheaper but in the same league

And thats it no need to spend anymore then that .

Ultimate source is HQ tape not turntables

Regarding Avalon they need to start experimenting with modern composite housing materials imv , the MDF or what ever they use is outdated , balance etc is fine

These are rather small for a behemoth I d say :) More like small black bear hehe, but yes that is the model that has captured my fancy so to speak... Morricab and others have liked their sound alot, and on the youtube they sound very well , and sized right for my listening room. Thanks for your info!

These are mostly toy speakers , if you want realism and to hear everything thats on the recording, get a pair of these Quested OLY 208's.

Of course but it was so unimpressive i didn t bother to take a picture.
There were 3 or 4 rooms with rockports

I missed Rockport Lyra / Orion didnt see either of them .

For the rest no R koda / Kharma exquisite.
Fono acoustica was playing with some other Ls design ( not very good sounding)
I think on Goldmund

You didn’t hear the issues with the Marten’s upper frequencies? Rather reticent and yet still standing out…weird. Tidal was Crystal clear and upon first listen very impressive. After awhile though the coldness of the sound creeps into your bones and you feel like you need a vacation to the south of Spain to warm back up.

No i didnt hear that , i thought Marten / tidal / Zellaton were well balanced speakers.
But get some life into the sound please .

I made a list back buried somewhere in this thread. The Acapella was probably the most consistently best sound…as in it sounded great all 4 days. IMO it was a very complete package.

It's built like a SR-71 Blackbird's leaky panels. Those gaps will tighten as it reaches 200mph ;)
