1923 -The much awaited Season 2

there will however be 2 spinoffs which were announced last year........

  • Two new spinoff series set in the same universe have been greenlit, titled 1944 and 2024, with the latter following the end of Yellowstone and starring Matthew McConaughey.
  • The spinoffs will continue the trend of setting the story against major historical crises, with 1944 likely focusing on World War II, while the other spinoffs took place in 1883 and 1923.

Just finished the finale of 1923. The series did not disappoint. Like 1883 many smiles and much disappointment with the fate of certain characters.

I won’t provide spoilers ‘till several days pass and those interested have the opportunity to watch.

Helen Mirren and Julia Schlaepfer stole the show and Harrison Ford seems to get better with age.

I thought 1923 was hands down Harrison Fords best role.

What a wonderful series this was Looking forward to the debut of 1944

I continue to marvel at the genius of Taylor Sheridan

Tonight was extremely moving and powerfully intense. Wow.

Totally agree...Am I the only one who feels that 1923 was a better series than Yellowstone (which BTW I loved)

Helen Mirren was beyond

I believe both 1883 and 1923 were better series than Yellowstone. When Yellowstone focused on the ranch and cowboys it was fine TV. When Beth was center stage it became cartoonish at best.

Sheridan has proven he can develop great women characters such as Cara and Alex in 1923, Elsa, Margaret and Noemi in 1883, and Iris in Mayor of Kingston. At the same time he misses terribly with Beth in Yellowstone, Angela and Ainsley in Landman, and to some extent with Joe in Lioness.

Steve as you note Helen Mirren was brilliant. She is the epitome of someone who never has a to over-act to pull you into the character. I think she should have won the Emmy last year, this year she was even better.

Jim I totally agree

As for Landman IMO it was IMO the weakest of all Taylor Sheridan TV series. The show IMO was merely watching Billy Bob Thornton be Thimself. It lacked a great story line but they have already begun filming Season 2

Helen Mirren is one of my favorite actors and together with Harrison Ford they were the center of the story with 3 side stories off the main.

And yes 1883 remains my favorite TV mini series (one season) of all time. I have to go all the way back to Roots for a one season mini series that was as great. It will be interesting to see how 1944 and 2024 fare. Im certain 2924 wont be your cup of tea as it will be Beth and Rip. My wife's bookclub ladies all love Rip and their favorite line is "all women need a little Rip in their jeans"

I watched the ending of 1923 last night and thought it was amazing. Sad, brutal and engaging. Sheridan certainly does not hesitate in killing off characters but in this case I think truly exposing the difficulty of living then, in those conditions and the greed and evil of man. He spent a lot of time setting this all up and in this one amazing episode brought it all home. Bravo!

I thought this two hour series finale was likely the best of any series I’ve ever seen As Jim stated yesterday Helen Mirren and Julia Schlaepfer in their roles gave gut wrenching performances. If I could find one fault with the story it was Spencer on the train to Livingston and seeing his wife in the burning car in the deep snow. Having said that however it did set Spencer up for the way the series ended.

I really feel Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford deserve to win the Emmy for best actor and actress in a dramatic series

I’m not a Harrison Ford fan but having seen all of his performances over the years I still feel this role was the best of his lengthy career. The two of them were simply superb

Harrison Ford is also excellent in Shrinking.

Ive watched Shrinking . Not a big fan of
I am not a fan of Jason Siegel at all but the rest of the cast is very good. We watched it over the years as it came out, then we rewatched it all again. I must say I enjoyed it much more the second around.
