I agree it would be wonderful to have tape copies of all the famous Decca, & EMI recordings, but I'm sure the logistics & costs of licensing with these major historic labels puts this wish into the realm of fantasy.

What the Tape Project did was piggyback onto Winston Ma's reissuing the Decca tapes on XRCD or K2 CD reissues.

Wilson Audio is releasing recordings...perhaps, this is an opportunity to express to WA our interest in straight transfers of analog tape material

There will be Wilson tapes spinning at RMAF. That would be a good time to put a bug in their ear!

I would be happy enough if they released the DSD files ...

The quick list off the top of my head of commercial Master Tapes is as follows.
I have contacted many more recording companies that are kinda on the fence about issuing their libraries on tape. I believe they want to see a bit more activity or probably sales from tape copies before they jump into the ring.
I have one new company with a great classical library and a great name in audiophile recordings that should be announcing their entry into the Master Tape arena soon, but I won't steal their press. The tapes will be available from Kevin Berg at Elusive Disc. There is also an operation in Germany that sells tape copies but I cannot recall their name.
Please post any additions to this list, or if I left anyone out.

I got this information from Kevin Berg @ Elusive Disc :
Thanks for your e-mail and interest in your interest in our Groove Note Analog Tapes.

We are still setting up the Groove Note Analog Tapes on our Elusive Disc website so they are not ready to order through our website yet. But once we are done you will be able to order them through our website like a normal Elusive Disc purchase.
.....
The initial series of Groove Note tapes will be made using reels of NOS Quantegy GP9 at 15 ips. EQ will be NAB and there are 2 reels per title.
Repros of the original cover art are included.

Price is $600 USD per title plus shipping.

I asked once more about the EQ and Kevin Berg answered:
Yes the NAB EQ information came directly from Ying Tan so I am sure it is correct.

You're joking, right ? NAB?? NOS GP9?? $600/album???

This is a bad business decision. They need to outsource this.

No Bernie G. is duping the tapes one at a time and you're paying for his time. I've tried to get one tape from Ying for now going on a year and a half but they seem to be in very short supply. All 8 or so dupes that I know of have AFAIK have been sold in Asia. Personally, I'm not sure Ying's heart is in it.

Personally, I'd have chosen someone else to begin with.

Well I'm sure it's because Bernie cuts Ying's LPs too....we know you guys have a difference of opinion :(
