My monitor speakers are on top of heavy wood and metal furniture. I tried granite under the speakers and it was just bad. Placing IsoAcoustic ISO-200 stands under the speakers was a huge improvement, but putting the granite slabs between the ISO stands and monitors yielded further improvement.
