Any one dig ECM Records?

I have around 50 ECM CDs.

I especially like Jan Garbarek, Anour Brahem, Paul Motion, and
Gary Peacock. Many others too.

Love 'em, specially the early stuff, in the 70s.
The scandinavian and german artists on the label usually had good stuff, like Terje Rypdal ("Odyssey" is classic), Reiner Bruninghaus, Eberhard Weber, etc.
Usually excellent SQ too !

Andre, if you like the ECM aesthetic, check out Nik Bartsch's Ronin. The guy is a new-ish swiss pianist, and he's got some amazing albuns of instrumental, rhythmic jazz, some on ECM.

The LPs are even better than the CDs and they are both reference quality

I love them, and have quite a few - LP's as well as some CDs. Some I use as reference for design and demos. The latest I picked up is this one. It is fabulous, and got a lot of play during the Gothenburg show over the weekend. Track 7 solicited a lot of goosebumps!

Will check this one out! If I had the loot..I would by the whole damn ECM catalog!

Alex's comment mirrors mine. One of my favorite labels. From an audio perspective the label is exemplary. IMO, Jan Erik Konshaug is the finest recording engineer in the world. German and US-Warner Bros pressings are phenomenal.

Check out Tord Gustavsen's albums on ECM. All reference quality.

OK I've gushed enough

I have a little more than one hundred, happily most of them are LPs. And believe me, you never listened to Offramp (Pat Metheny) if you have not listened to the original LP. ;)

Have several CDs and some LPs .. CDs are very good .. Have not compared them head to head ... Back in the days I did find the LP somewhat top heavy ... could have been the phono preamp at the time
Wasn't Keith Jarrett's "the Moth and the Flame" album on this label?
Now you people, have to remind me of ECM.. I had back in the days several of their LPs maybe 50 or so and I lost these ... So I will get the CDs .. Great Jazz and frankly most of the time great recordings...

I would love to hear some if not most of the ECM jazz and classical choral stuff on reel to reel tape. What a blast that would be.

Adding up Keith Jarrett, Egberto Gismonti, Arvo Part, Pat Metheny, Anouar Brahem and all the others I own well over 50 ECM recordings. More importantly i have listened to many of these recordings 100s of times (with first prize going to keith jarretts koln concert). As a matter of fact, listening to keith jarrett trio "changes" flying pt. 1 as we speak. Priceless.

Anouar Brahem is amazing.

I have almost everything.....will listen to Astounding Eyes of Rita tonight!

Yeah.... This was a stereophile recording of the month opening up Brahem to a broader audience. I have been listening to him since the 90s, starting with the Barzakh album.

Also try Rabih Abou Khalil. Another excellent Oud Player / composer (from Lebanon - not on ECM). More of a jazzman.

I heard about Brahem around ten years ago.

Yes, RAK is awesome too...more fusion. I have a bunch of his stuff too.

I have about 20 live recordings of both them too. They perform quite a bit in Europe.

Huge fan here! - I started with the Jarret titles (I think I have them all in CD, several on LP) and now my list goes to more than 40 just from ECM, great recordings, content and friendly company. I like Anat Fort and Manu Katche among many others.
