Anyone Attending the 2022 Munich HiFi shows?

I am flying out to Munich today, will be at the show on Saturday & Sunday.

Just wondering why Wilson has to toe in so much all the time?

Tango thats the way wilson has adjusted the X over in combination with the adjustable resistors on the back to obtain the balance they want .
The type of room has a certain influence as well.
It can also depend on the listeners preference.
Usually on axxis listening gives a more flat response.
If the speakers are positioned forward the listener will hear rolled off less pronounced highs.
In this case its the balance they want you to hear

OK GUYS!!

There's HOFFMAN'S BIERGARTEN on the inner area between Halls 3&4 that offers...wait for it...BIER!! and associated 'Bavarian and International cuisine'.

Ill get there by 11-11:30ish and hold as much real estate up to 8 seats as possible.

Ill be wearing a pink sports jacket (Yeah, thats right) hopefully a few WBF lurkers can make it!.

BE prepared to give recon on your top rooms to the group!!

We just flew back through the German landscape in the high speed train (Vmax 300km/h), best sound of the show for me was the Admire Audio Western electric 12a based system, especially when combined with Hyun Lee's latest Tedeska cartridge. Next favorite was the new Wolf von Langa (Field coil).

Now at home enjoying soem newly discovered music by 'Smog' on my own system

The horn was interesting but I didn’t think the bass integrated very well…it gave it a kind of overly “laid back “ sound.
What was the new field coil speakers from WvL? I saw only the Son and a tiny one (which I thought was not good).

I think off axis dispersion of Wilsons is not very uniform so better to have less wall interaction…I could be wrong though…

I agree on the bas integration of the horn! For me the WvL Son was new, I stopped following 'consumer audio' approx 20 years ago so that says more about me than anything else ;-)

These events are sort of calibration events for me, it's too easy to veer off at a wrong angle when developing things so it was great to notice I did not make any wrong turns.

My problem with the Son is the tweeter integration…it sounds like it is off by itself doing its thing that is sort of correlated with the midbass but there is a Frequency gap between them.

I completely agree, though I think it can be fixed ...IMO it's not a freq gap per se. Integrating a tweeter or let's say any two speakers covering a different freq range is a challenge for all speakers builders....the complexity rises exponentially with more drivers and only few get it right.

Pity, you missed the only system capable of giving a live concert feeling at the show this year.

Yes, but as it’s only a two-way, failure to get that right is IMO a failed speaker. If I can do better DIY(and I can) then I would not pay 15k for a speaker I need to fix the design of. The Living Voice Avatar OBX-RW4 was same price with flawless integration and huge beautiful sound…no-way I could do better…

we scanned all rooms of any interest, and did seconds in those of interest...dynamics were good yet the foundation was lacking but that is after hearing loads of systems so I may be mixing up things. I'll give that system a listen when I can, same as that I want to hear the Taiko without the speaker used to demo it.
Another system we thought was OK was the warped cube horn, I forgot its name...
