There's often interesting content on Audiophiliac, but he looks and sounds like my grandmother, and what is the point of watching a man flail his arms around for 10 or 15 minutes? Video reviews are just an ego trip, IMO.
Is this Jay in disguise? If not what is your level of experience in this hobby? if you are still dazzled by the price tags then I can see how Jay’s channel will appeal to you. If you don’t own a reference level high-end audio system but aspire to owning one some day, then I can see how Jay’s channel would appeal to you. If you have been in this hobby for a while and are a seasoned audiophile then other than for entertainment I’m not sure Jay offers much. He does not keep and develop any of his systems long enough to optimize them and prefers or perhaps only knows a “Hi-Fi” presentation that is analytical, 2-dimensional, and devoid of musicality. Just my take on Jay’s experience and on the sound of his systems.

Just through the videos he posts. But Elliot was just there and offered commentary. I realize that you and Elliot are not on good terms but I’m sure that he would answer any questions you may have. I get the feeling that Elliot wasn’t too impressed. The good news for you is that your friend OCD Mikey has been to Jay’s room twice and listened to his systems. You can call your good friend OCD Mikey and get any details on the sound of Jay’s system that you want. I can tell you this OCD Mikey did not like it, said it wasn’t his type of sound. He said that the systems sounded too hi-fi’sh, cold & analytical.

Elliot liked it a lot based on that video. But my point is that you are speculating and saying harsh things without even hearing the system. That's not. a valid or fair observation.

Lee, this is a public forum and I can share my opinion as I see fit. You have become the defender of things that do not need defense. Are you doing PR work now?

Start by learning the industry that you will be representing, Jay post his videos to showcase the sound of his systems and encourages viewers of his channel/videos to comment on what they hear. It will help you to learn a little about what you are talking about.
I enjoy many if them as much as I enjoy written reviews. Depends on the reviewer. It is also good to see the equipment being used and in scale with people ans other components. And not just pretty promo shots.
I often wonder what Harry Pearson's video reviews would be like
Harry would never have done videos, he was a very private person. I think he might have seen the value in them but I seriously doubt that he would have been the face of the videos.
