I am an electrician since 1980, and have been in the electronics industry for the last 20 years. I am alway tweaking fixing or trying to learn about something. My Current occupation is installing and servicing single phase and 3 phase UPS power conditioners for computer rooms. data rm's etc. We rebuild them when they have a fault, every 10 years we replace all the caps and fans etc.

So i thought what is inside my Home audio power conditioner? Simple enough, remove the screws to find 3 sets of cct boards full of caps, and #14 wire. Since i had a good result with installing a dedicated 20 amp cct with a Cardas 4181 duplex outlet which feeds the PC, i though ok i will buy 6 more plugs for the PC and upgrade the wire size inside. It took a bit of doing, at the same time it was a huge success. I removed all the #14 wire and replaced it with #10 awg cable which is all oxygen free copper. I installed the 6 Cardas plugs as well. The end musical result was astounding. The background is dead quiet, the articulation of the vocals and the plucking of strings became more pronounced. It was just better overall. Since i have 2 systems and the same PC on the other system, i performed the same treatment to it as well.

I started to think, i spent money to upgrade the dedicated electrical cct to feed the system, then it gets dropped down to a small awg wire again in the first piece of gear it enters. That didn't make sense to me, so i though what the hell let's try this. Larger AWG wire = less resistance, less heat on the conductors and more current flow. 20230520_160544.jpg20230520_160542.jpg20230603_090406.jpeg20230603_090413.jpeg20230603_090418.jpeg20230603_091726.jpeg
