I was involved in the creation of digital audio from its inception. I invented a superior format, along with countless other audio innovations!

It is a mistake to think that a recording engineer knows more about it than I do!
So you really ARE Prot from K-PAX? :D

After the Laserdisc for audio purely didn't fly, what are the other countless audio innovations from you?

George Mann, inventor of the full spectrum, frequency-modulated optical analog disc format.

Thank you, George. We see reference to your analog optical disc invention, but why do you keep telling us you were involved in the creation of digital audio?

As I heavily conversed with, and exchanged ideas with those involved in the research and development of the perspective digital audio formats, I was definitely involved in it.

However, the redbook standard was created solely by Sony, and foisted upon us at the minute!

Oh, a pseudo expert on digital theory. As I recall, redbook was a joint effort by Sony and Phillips. Is anything brought to market foisted on us all?

Don't mock my knowledge and expertise!

Redbook was solely Sony's doing. The Philips format used the 14bit 50khz standard.
Phillips only invented the CD center hole. Dutch guilder coin, size 10c...joke:p

"The audio CD (Compact Disc) was developed by a joint effort between two companies: Sony and Philips. Engineers from both companies worked together to develop the CD technology, which was later standardized and released as the Red Book audio CD standard in 1982."

Philips standardized the Compact Disc, Sony standardized Red Book.

Phillips first dac chip tda 1540 was 14 bit (cd 100),with model cd 304 came 16 bit dac tda 1541.. sony had cx 20017 dac chip 16 bit in the first player cdp 101. everyone did their own thing. sony standard has prevailed. The phillips was the better performer.

Who invented the internet?

The internet didn't exist back then.
Al Gore and I were talking about it though (as college mates).

I am sorry that there has been such a rude pile on from many of the usual suspects.

Us old guys need to wear our full armor… no mercy will be shown. It’s our own fault. We raised these disrespectful know it alls.

As for vinyl vs digital, honestly both are available. Enjoy them or enjoy one. But don’t ruin it for the noobie wannabe nutters. Let them figure it out for themselves.

I think you miss my point that I made in jest. First, I have learned not to believe anything coming from press or internet. Or at minimum I have a healthy skepticism. Given that, whatever role SoundMann had in the development or not is really not relevant to the discussion on hand concerning SQ. Since I wasn't there I can or cannot say what sombodies role was. Unknowable unless your name is on the patent and even then? As to the function between age and respect or rudeness as you put it I have found it to be an equal opportunity employer. As an "old" guy myself I have seen many of my peer behaving in a less than respectful ways. Ultimately respect is earned not bestowed.
