I need a high performing rca splitter to A/B between 2 sources to 1 source. Preamp and tape output to headphone amp. Anyone out there think they can build this for me. PM me please.

I feel a little funny getting a $175 Amazon item to attach my Open Reel tape deck with crazy good new external tape preamp to and from my system. Just seems wrong. But I don't want to be pulling cables in and out. Seems more damaging over time.

Promise it won’t blow up your system :)! You can spend 100 times more but it will be a similar box with similar switches, only with some bullshit silver wire!

Being that you know what your doing so much more so than others, I will take the plunge. Thanks.

It will serve the purpose of your experiment any switch will degrade the signal to an extent, it’s just how it is.

Gold point will make a good one :https://goldpt.com/sw4.html they do balanced as well

Decware also build something :https://www.decware.com/newsite/ZSB.html

David is correct, of course, and introduction of a switch will introduce some loss. I built a switch attenuator passive last year for my tape set up .. to switch from some high level sources on that system-- I included a gold tape mon switch too for straight through to pre pro. My main system is all phono optimized.

Khozmo attenuator and Seiden switch from Japan. .. it subtracts very little.. but its there. . Mine also uses bullshit silver wire in it LOL.
