Jason's a very critical listener, and I'm honored that he liked what music I was making at CES. The last time I played him my Class D amps, he thought that they sounded "etched". I'm glad that this second generation of amps (more mods made to the Hypex modules and new developments in both the low-voltage as well as high-voltage power supply) met with his approval. What Jason didn't mention was that I was using the latest version of Steve's VRE-1C preamp (sonically the same, but it has a digital volume read-out) and only using my SMc-1 preamp as a phono stage.
Here's the LP I played for him - a 50-year-old original pressing. I first heard about it from jazdoc (Thanks, Mark) and it took me quite a few months to get a quiet, clean Stereo copy. The Monos are much easier to find. It's a wonderful demo for tonal color and dynamics.
