Diesis dipole

An IMPORTANT feature of all of the Diesis speaker models is that there are three different resistors (Mundorf for all models EXCEPT THE ROMA TRIODE, the RT uses Pure Silver 99.99% resistors made by Diesis) that are supplied with the speakers, each resistor having different values, that can be changed in 5 minutes in each speaker.

The different resistor values alter the signal into the horn from approximately 500Hz and above and allow for:

- More mellow, laid back sound

-Neutral sound

-A bit more hotter/raw (more exciting sound)

The differences are totally user and room dependent. It is a GREAT feature when installing the speakers for different listeners in different rooms.

I’m sure there is a reason now for a trip to Italy, maybe a pause in Manhattan!

Cool diffuser thing. Maybe not my style, but pretty neat.

How lovely and what a view.
Where are you?
Thx. Yes quite a view. The installation that was done today was on the North Shore of Long Island. I am now back in Manhattan.

Are they using the new Rhapsody invisi-cables? I thought those were still in R & D.

Holes drilled in the floor cables run in the basement over to the cabinet. "Sort of" wireless:)

nice speaker, very well made.
One Question
why didn't the horn driver open at the back so that it works as a complete dipole. sounds a lot better

We're VERY happy with the way that they sound as they are. For anyone that wants a different design there are lots of great choices out there.

I only learned about Diesis horn /open-baffle woofer design a couple years ago. Since then I’ve seen some other similar designs, and lots of horns speakers. I have never seen an open horn design as you describe though I will admit I have seen only a small percentage of all the various speaker designs. And, I have never heard anyone, besides yourself, mention this “horn open at the back” design. Can you share a speaker where this has been done? And you mention “sounds a lot better” compared to what? It seems to me it would require a totally different overall execution—please provide an example.

I loved the sound of the Diesis Roma when I heard them, have been wanting an excuse to hear them again for a more significant audition. That day is coming soon.
