Near Atlanta, GA but not too near!
I downloaded this last night. If you are a DB fan, run and do not walk to your PC and get this. FUN FUN FUN !!!

Only listened on my headphone so far but sounds GREAT !

That was a Warner transfer we did. Sounded pretty good to me.... considering.

Why do you think that was? God knows we had the technology to make good recordings.

The same CDs and SACDs that we compared to the tapes are night/day. The production run is far removed from what was actually recorded on the tapes. Go figure.... though the Eagles - Hotel California had great/clean bass.

That's exactly the problem Mark :) Too much technology. Simple is usually better.

Multi-track recordings. Echo plates. Aurex exciters. Moving from tube electronics to solid state (and man, some of those recordings done with early solid-state electronics will peel the paint off the wall. Gives metallic a new meaning!). Mikes that were flat as a ruler and sounded like crap. Piecing together musicians recorded at different studios. The list goes on :(

I do have the recently remastered Eagles Hits which includes Hotel California...it sounds like a well remastered album to me. Same with the Police & Sting Remasters (Bob Ludwig) and the U2 Remasters (which while to my ears not as good as the Police/Sting...are still way better than the 1992 albums i had from U2).
