Flowing horns thru Samsung phone spkr is more like a sieve. Does anyone get anything from all this. You gotta be there, surely.

My thoughts exactly. And no, I don't get much from this either.

My system as such, directly from speakers to ears, sounds far more natural -- and hey, with better flow and continuity -- than this through questionable microphone and cheap compressed digital. But then, that obviously is no real comparison by any stretch of the imagination.

Why are you listening through your Samsung? Listen with headphones from your laptop or stream from phone to small speakers

That was my take away.

Hey Bonzo, could you please give us catalog numbers for these performancs? I really liked the di Vito Bach vc.

Di Vito Bach is ASD 429
Martzy Bach is Columbia 33cx 1286.

I have not made these myself. I have heard all the components involved and some of these records and some similar. These are the General's videos. I stumbled upon the videos and thought they were demonstrable of what I have in mind when I say flow or hear it.

In the first video the speaker is the Loth minstrel. General first had it then Bill had it for a while where I heard it. It is the most flowing speaker I have heard in the highs and mids, though frequency constrained especially in the bottom half. So you can use it to play only some music. In some ways, the top choice for a second speaker. The video demonstrates well that flow in its strength range.

De Vito Bach sounded great on headphones. What is the amp with the 833 tube? Does not look exactly like the big Wavac.

Yes. There's a very obvious thing going on here.

This thread could simply be called "belt drive sound". You can get this character from extraordinarily cheap turntables that are belt driven (sadly lots of other less desirable sound with it).

I didn't say a bad stereo would display it well, so don't go nuts... But yes, this type of flow is very definitively found in belt drives. There's a reason why people with nice stereos like them!

There are many belt drive videos on YouTube or systems in real life without flow

David just told me he is planning to change his Pabst motor to a DC or a switch mode power supply since the belt should retain the flow anyway

You know damn well a statement like that isn't all inclusive. There's no reason to pepper the whole thread before you even ask a question.
