A guy posted this on a music forum. No idea what's on the reels but who knows. PM me if you'd like his email address.

Early last year, I was going for a walk in San Francisco and
found a paper bag full of reels. A year and a half later, I
haven't done anything with them. They're all marked in some way
(codes, letters and numbers), so I'd expect them all to have
something recorded on them. A few had notes, things that seemed
to say the contents were news broadcasts, recordings of lectures,
and one seemed to be a band rehearsal. Most of them, though, had
nothing to let me know what could possibly be on them. A few were
dated, and those dates were in 1975.
My question is - what should I do with these? I've never played a
reel in my life, have no access to equipment to play them, and
don't have much experience transferring anything to digital. I
want to know what's on these, but I don't want to spend a bunch
of money to be disappointed. But should I find a company to
transfer them, or find the equipment to do it myself? Any
suggestions on these? I'm in the Seattle area now, if that makes
a difference.
