Question: How much do you think one could sell an original, "clamshell", first generation Rega Elicit for these days? What do they usually go for?

I see there's one up for auction for almost 1800 USD, which seems like a total fantasy price to me -- I just can't imagine that it's still that much worth after all these years, even for hardcore collectors.

What say you, gentlemen?

I say put it up on Ebay and let the market determine its price.

Aye, but here's the rub: I don't have one yet. I could get one, though, for about 700 dollars, but I'd like know if that is a decent price, and/or if I could resell it in due time and recoup my investment, or even make a profit.
