As Charlie stated in the last email, the caps in the last 10-12 units have the output caps bypassed. When Myles and I listened to the two K/C preamps last year, we both agreed that the Mundorf capped unit was considerably better sounding. We are only talking about various input caps in this discussion.
I was in know way suggesting your system or anyone's else's is colored in the negative sense. First off I haven'y heard your system, secondly... What I am trying to say is everyone's system sounds different. Certain caps may have a more pleasing sound than other's depending on your system, room and ears. Down the road I may look into playing with input caps. I think it's worth it to give them a chance to fully break-in. They sound great already (in my system).
I have to admit I am confused... bypassed cap means to me running a really tiny capacitor parallel with the larger one... on the other hand, "no capacitor connected" - I don't know how to interpret that... So is there is an output capacitor at all, or is there is one but bypassed with a smaller one, or something else?

Yes I agree with you Peter. AFAIK, mine has the output caps bypassed with 1 uF Mundorfs--although Charlie would like me to hear his unit without any output caps at all. I'm game since it's an easily reversible situation
