Kondo vs Allnic

Let’s try to be productive and helpful.

What was your cash cost for the Thomas Mayer fully loaded. Let’s set the baseline.
Let's put it this way... Each ec8020 tube is between 2-4k euro and you need 8. So the tube cost here probably buys a good portion of an allnic. That wasn't the question though. The question was what's best here and the answer was quite straightforward. I hope that helps and we can move on. Daniel san says hi

This is helpful. How much is the base ?

Trying to figure out what that config costs ? It’s not offered currently so it would be custom.

How big a difference is TM partial and full silver D3A vs differential and how do you think that competes with H10,000

the full silver i was told sounds more effusive with more details , i havent compared them side to side to confirm that . i usually just go for the top model when i feel that the component is synergistic so i dont have to roll upwards. I dont think the allnic is in the same room as the TM; allnic i will put in the mid tier category; even the ch that fremer likes - i too have it in the mid tier ...when i say that i made no reference to the price ; i mean tiers of sound - the sound there is not in the high tier range.. the thing about the tm phono is....you cannot get the full potential without hooking it up to the tm preamp. hence i think thats where a few ppl get wrong buying the phono but without the preamp .

Picture of an allnic I modded. Not pretty but it did sound better after I did my work. This is their preamp.

Which Model?

Regarding the H10,000 it takes the following tubes:

Four (4) x ECF802 – first gain stage
Four (4) x E180CC – second driving stage
Eight (8) x 7233–last power stage

Would love if anyone has tube rolling recommendations??

As I haven't heard...or seen any of TM products in person... I would not be able to comment on your opinion in fair manner. (However, Lundalh based amp... has never sounded good enough...to my tastes either ^^)

From my guestimation, your system seems to be low-wattage SET based one with high efficiency speaker. If your evaluation on phonos is based on such system and tastes... Hmm... then, ....

Please look for original Shindo pre / 300B single power with WESTERN Electric Trans / parts..... , which is far superior to most of products from home/garage based manufacturers. ... you could be amazed..

Shindo is quite coloured compared to TM. If you like color hmmm…then…

He has Magico M6

Yes... that was exactly my point... colored.. but still toxic...enjoyable.. As I wrongly assumed that his system is SET based one.... IF that's a case, then I thought that his evaluation on various phonos does make sense..

Hmm... M6... Then... I would become extremely curious about his power amp to drive M6. That wouldn't be 300B / Single Ended 211 or 2A3 based tube amp from TM... AM I correct?

His amp is the big Wavac SH 833. Only his phono and preamp is TM

I went from Shindo Giscours WE 349A to TM line and phono and feel confident about making the switch

I looking at the Kondo GE-10 specs, it says the Noise < 1.5mV.
Does anyone know how to relate mV to the more typical (for me anyways) SNR in db ?
