You can not even think about the cost of power in standby, or you will not enjoy the wonderful sound of the amps.
I sold a pair of 450mcx that had reasonable consumption at standby, and bought evolution ones that spin the meter quite well in standby mode. Higher wattage when fully powered on. The sound difference is over the top. Way over. And I was convinced the 450mcx was some of krell's best work, but the evolution one is it.
In the early 90's I listened to the kas amps quite a bit. They are incredible. Enjoy every day with them as they are very special amps.
Would love to a/b the kas and the evolution ones at some point.

I need some help from someone awesome!
I am an engineer who specializes in repairing high-end audio in Korea.
I am repairing a Krell Cas amplifier, and I am glad to have found this place while looking for a schematic or technical data because the bias circuit is difficult.
Can I ask for files 8326 to 8330 or any other helpful information?
Thanks
I have been receiving circuit diagrams and service manuals from the Krell headquarters service support team for some time now, but it is unfortunate that I have not been able to contact them recently.
Does anyone know the news?
Updated 2/20/2025 (previously 2/12/25) In a Connecticut courtroom on Wednesday, Kristofer D'Agostino, son of late Krell owner and CEO Rondi D'Agostino, won control over his own trust, opening a path for Krell to begin to get its ducks in a row and, if all goes well, reopen.
