Lampizator DSD DAC

And the 242 is winning in Mike's system...

He prefers mesh 45 to 242 valves for vocals and acoustic music and the latter valves to the former tubes for inter alia Classical music? Classical is acoustic music so I do not understand this.

Mike is NOT a Classicals music buff, so I would not read too deeply into that. Based on his description, I too would conclude the 45 Mesh Globe is the Classical music champ. He did says the 45 has superb tone and is "fast", ergo...

Each of us knows what we like
Also system synergy is a big factor. Tube rolling posts are guide a good starting point
But not a fact. If I remember right he has horns and liked the 101d of I am right that would yield a very fast and analytical sound
Not for me but for someone.
I have many tubes each having a faverite place and time and very system dependent both speakers and headphones.

True, but based on the description by Mike, it would seem that 45 would be more suited to Classical.

I haven't heard the Global Anniversaries, but the KR 45s and EML 45s are not suited for classical at all.

Where did you pick up your Tak 274B? I ordered one from PriceJapan and they never delivered it (6 weeks now), nor did they respond to repeated e-mails asking for a status of shipment. I Opened a PayPal dispute and they haven't responded in over a week. Really disappointed!!

I sent an email to takatsuki-denki and asking about pricejapan. The answer was quite astonishing. Their ONLY dealer is amtrans, they don't know how pricejapan works, too. They directed me to Amtrans. Few days ago I saw an ads, used TA-274B for Yen 60,000. New is Yen 86,500. When my friend checked the website again, it's sold. :( so ended up buying a new TA-274B and delivery will be one month after payment.

I have been trying to run-in my GG Balanced. I think I have finally reached the 250 hours by now. Guess what??? Amazing!!! This is the best DAC I have ever heard so far. I got the bloom, the mids, the spacious soundstage, gosh! I never knew it could drastically change the entire system.

I am ordering new cables, Sablon Audio Corona Reserva Elite PC, Panatela Reserva xlr interconnect, and Panatela LAN / Ethernet cables from Mark Coles. Will surely test them once arrive. The Elite might come later because of some parts have not come to Mark's place. I guess, the Elite might arrive at the same time with Takatsuki TA-274b which is mid of next month.

I have been following some forums about Lampizator and I think, I have made the best decision! Thanks guys for sharing your thoughts honestly and openly.

I contacted Takatsuki--Denki also and got a similar response. Still have not received any contact from them despite having opened a dispute with PayPal around 10 days ago.

Did you buy from Amstrans? If so, do they have an English language website? I haven't been able to navigate it confidently.

I have a good Indonesian friend who works in Tokyo. He helped me purchase from Amtrans. This morning, he just called me from FB messenger, he already bought the 2nd hand TA-274b from Amtrans for about 60,000 JPY. Few days ago, he contacted Amtrans but that item was sold. Apparently, the buyer has cancelled the purchase so he got it for me.

My friend told me, according to Amtrans, Takatsuki tubes are made to order. If we contacted Amtrans, they will check with factory. In case the factory has stock, it will be delivered within days. Otherwise, it will take one month. Right now, the factory has stock so if you order from Amtrans, they can ship you within few days. I tried using google translate when opening their website. Though not 100% clear, at least I can guess what the website is about. :)

You might want to contact Amtrans now because the stock is available.

Hi no haven't tried the Tak

I just got my TA-274B yesterday evening. My friend bought and hand carried for me a 2nd hand but looks like new one. I turned it on for about 3 hours before playing. After that, I noticed the bass has better texture and went deeper than KR. The overall sound has better texture but the I noticed the extreme depth is somewhat reduced. Vocal moved slightly closer. I think, I need more time to get those depth back. Now have to take care of some exhibition and will only be back by Monday morning. I have been told that my Sablon Audio cables will arrive by next Tuesday. I ordered from Mark, the grand reserva PC, panatela reserva XLR IC and panatela reserva Lan cables. Let's see how far will they improve my systems further.

May I ask what driver tubes do you use and is your dac SE or BAL
Thanks in advance

I use the Takatsuki 274b as my rectifier on my SE GG and love it.

not sure you really want to get your depth back. if your vocals are popping out and becoming more delineated that to me is wonderful.

I also experienced a more slightly up front soundstage with it compared to some other recti's however I view this result in a very positive vein and the word I use is more 'holographic'. further I would describe it as more front to back delineation and sense of reality. the Tak seems to control the nuance better.

the term I use for an extremely deep overall soundstage is 'recessed'.......and to me it's somewhat of a negative and less musically involving. when all the musical parts are very deep and all more on the same plane behind the speakers I'm missing some of the life and realism.

I'm not sure what technical forces are at play with these results, but my guess is the Tak somehow controls phase relationships better than a less capable recti.....at least for the Lampizator SE GG.

this is just my 2 cents, YMMV and all that. we all have our own set of priorities. and the terms we might use to describe soundstage characteristics can be confusing.

With KR 274B, I could hear layers of sound. Some single percussion instrument could emerge far behind the wall and still retail the front vocal. String orchestra was positioned at the back with the soloist in front. Now the distance between the back orchestra is shorter.

I agree, this TA-274b has a fuller sound as well. There is no thin sound when I spent about 4 hours listening to it till dawn.

The tak is another level above the Kron 5U4G or any other tube I own.
It has a stage that goes beyond the speakers themselves and depth and height that's enough to fill the room.
As for sound quality it's beyond any other tube I have as well. So far my fav is he px25 with it. Each of us has to find our own views but it's kind of we share each of our thoughts to help guide us all.
I also have a SS recti has anyone tried one. If Not buy a few there very cheap as in 15 or so. As a tease they are up there with most recti i own except for the tak. If your setup needs a better bottom it's the first place you say wow.
Please give me feedback of anyone has tried

Came back exhibition last night. My GG Balanced has been on until now with the TA-274B. Well, I would like to strongly recommend any GG owners to try this tube. Highly recommended and intoxicating. :)
