It's a great tube. Glad you love it.
Indeed, it's a great tube. Now waiting for 3 more Sablon Cables to arrive by tomorrow evening. The review and users' comments are very positive about these cables. So, I got an itchy audiophile hand.

One of my other dacs is an MSB stack. It's a great dac but the lampi makes it sound Mech if that makes sense
Every other recti I own , heard or tried all vary in sound texture but not all sound better than the msb but almost all expose its MECH sound
The better of the recti improve the texture of the sound
The tak improves the texture greatly while giving it a bigger deeper stage as well
I wish I could explain better what I hear but words are hard for me.
Hearing the vast improvement in sound with the tak is easy lol.
When you true your new cables go back and forth after a few days with the new ones installed and playing
At this point your brain can better asses the changes
Please post than. I use a basic cable.
Mogami gold mic cables.

I also filed a claim against PriceJapan with PayPal and received a full refund. PriceJapan never responded to a single email from me or Paypal.
Thanks for the heads up on Jack having the Taks in stock. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on the Tak 274B?
Hi Germanboxers, I have checked with the manufacturer, their only dealer in Japan is Amtrans. They don't know PriceJapan or how that company work. My friend works in Tokyo and he helped me to contact the manufacturer. So basically, these tubes are not always available at all time. If we contact Amtrans, they will need to check with Tak. If stock is ready, Amtrans will get them for you faster. If not, sometimes, it will take about a few weeks. Tak manufacturer doesn't sell directly to customers.
So if you're looking for Tak, it's better to contact Amtrans instead. Based on my experience with Tak 274B, I can not agree more, go ahead and try. My GG is a balanced version with KR PX-4.
Your GG sounds like a really good setup there!

Thanks, Ferrox...I ordered a Tak from Woo Audio. Hope to receive it before the weekend, but no guarantees, just hope. I'm running KR Audio 300B Balloons in my single ended GG. I also like the EML 45 Anniversary Globes in my setup, not so much the WE replica 101D's. For rectifiers I've settled on the Phillips 5r4gys. I also have a gec U52 and an RCA 5u4g, but neither worked all that well in my setup. Looking forward to the Tak being the one!
All the Tak owners love it. AL says it and NOS WE 274b are undisputed heavyweight champs of the world. LoL.
The best backup recti is the KR5u4g annoversary as it will outlast all others by a factor of 10, due to the much higher vacuum seal. Get these 2 and it seems all your worties are put behind you.
However, I still love my Philips metal base GZ34 and RCA JAN WW2 5r4gy. Brimar 5r4gy and Haltron double mica as well. The latter inescare a LOT cheaper.
All of the 5v rectis with 5 pins.Wisnon, I wonder how many type of recti's can we use? I am reading so many now.
All of the 5v rectis with 5 pins.
5u4g, 274b, 422a, 5r4gy,gz34 (5AR4), gz37, U52, 5y3gt, 5z4, 5v4 (GZ32), (many of these have 2 codes, like CV17xx or the like...)
Many also are of the same class but with vastly different construction, like the Haltron/Zaerix/Fivre 5r4gy with double mica or the WW2 RCA Jan5r4gy with the downward sloping double D getter.
The Tak and the WE Nos 274b are the most expensive, but also seem to be the favourites of those who tried many kinds.
