Hi, are you saying RE 604 can work in Lampi?

I simply don't know Ked.

I was amazed when Goran said UX112A works in a Pacific on 300B.

The following will definitely work:

RE614 4 1.0 250 -15 48 1900 4.0 7.6 --- 2.6 12
LK4110 = RE614
E406 4 1.0 250 -24 48 1500 4.0 6.0 2800 1.5 12
E406N 4 1.0 500 -68 24 2000 3.0 6.0 11500 5.3 12
U4H 4 0.9 400 -30 26 4000 2.0 8.0 6000 2.5 12
ACO84 4 1.0 400 -34 20 7300 1.1 8.0 --- --- -
O15 / 400 4 1.0 400 -38 40 1800 4.5 8.0

In other words they are all PX4 heater rating or thereabouts.

Goran who is Yoda?

Moreover can he provide an explanation of how the friggin' Pacific circuit works so we can all understand what can and cannot be used?

Great repository. One to slowly go down and experiment. Started listening to a National Union 112A this morning and I'm shocked at what I'm hearing. It should be illegal for the price.

I can't use 112A since I can't supply less than 1 amp.

However I can use stuff Lampis can't.

Price is irrelevant to performance. Takes a while to realise this;)

I would say that he can’t and won’t as this is his proprietary design he uses and i fully undestand this.
What we nut heads do, does maybe few % of the owners so its actually our problem and i find it even very nice from him that he’s in a mode of checking and replying on my s..t and zillions of tube data sheets i’m sending him...i just did today for another one :p

I thought the same TBH that's why I didn't chase.

But I understand how mine works now which is good - and therefore I know what I can and can't use without having to ask anyone.

What DAC are you using now?

Check out ACPX 4. Mesh plate anode. Another curious 4V 1A triode.

I think this has been on eBay for a very long time. I have never seen another.

That mesh plate anode is ultra cool.

Want.

So a while back I was talking about optimising the DAC for RD27AS via the Rod Coleman trim pots so that it runs at the desired 4V. And indeed so any valve can be run at the exact prescribed voltage. Or a voltage that at least makes it work:D

Then I had a look inside the DAC and realised that the trim pots are a bit inaccessible.

So I had the idea of having a voltmeter installed on the DAC and a couple of external trim pots.

This means that you would zone in on the valve using the six position switch to get the desired current, then use the trim pots and voltmeter to get the exact voltage.

Discussed it with the chap that did the mods. He's up for it. I think I'll get it done it just seems like a cool thing to have.

Watch this space. May take a while, though.

I believe I asked Yoda regarding this one quite a while ago, as I indented to get them (I had a nice NOS pair lined up) but he said something along the lines of that they have reversed pinout - whatever that means (if i remember correctly).
In that regard i also had lined up YO-186, but at the end i decided to put the ball on the ground (for a while)...and explore a bit cheaper options like 112a:D

It doesn't appear to be reversed looking at the specification. It's just a B4 socket - a B4 to UX4 adaptor should sort it out.

Might be worth a double check I have an inkling it may work. But I could be wrong.

It'd be nice for someone to at least try a Telefunken I don't think anyone has done that yet on these pages?

I'm 99% sure nobody tried 604 or 186 yet...but yes - would be nice
