Around three years ago when we saw the delta the special 45s had to the regular ones Bill had mentioned that KR or EML should make a giant 242. Awesome

Is this a special version of the 242? Didn't know that existed. My 242s arrive on Monday.

Mine is a KR 242, not RK.

Wow Adam, you look set!

It's been an interesting few days of experimentation. My favorite pairings in order are:

Tak 274B + EML 300B XLS
KR5U4G + Elrog 300B

The PX4s are really not doing the business in my system with either of the two rectis. I have to say that the Tak + EML 300B XLS produces a very natural sounding presentation that is very balanced, and revealing of texture and nuance. It's shown itself to have the quietest background as great layering of the stage.

KR 242s get in tomorrow, and I'm hoping for some magic. I am trying to get PX25s into the mix, but I doubt they''ll get here before I leave for vacation.

All this with both rectis still burning in.

That heavily depends on the answer she gives on the questions in the Q&A session - if the answers are like "Peace in the world", "Equal treatment", etc. price ie damage skyrockets; if the answers make any sense damage can be contained within the reasonable margins ;)

I am selling my RK 300Bs. I'd be amazed if they have more than 50 hours on them, but definitely less than 100 hours.

It's an excellent pair. No structural faults I can identify whatsoever. I'm putting them on ebay tomorrow. Or PM me if you like.

As described before in this thread the general reckoning is that PX25 and RK 300B are the best offerings. I prefer my AD1s. Hence they are for sale.

Looks like an RK PX4 or 300B to me. Ked must interrogate. Will he really prefer it to the standard issue?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure good Eunice will just re-label a fallen-from-grace PX4 to fool the numerous 242 zealots
