I've received both Select and Reserve versions of the Ray Tubes 6SN7's to try in the BAT VK80i and the Viva Solista.

Here is a picture of the Reserve versions being run-in.

You can see they are a different shape and color from the traditional Russian ones that are more slender and completely flat sided.

Interesting tube. I tried to find info on them. What I read is they are from a unknown plant in china. Then matched and graded.
I got the Shuguang Golden Treasure 50th aniversary. I like them. Chines tubes arn't all bad. I still want to try the ACME KT88. But I may try a KT120 first.

Amazing sounding tube.

Perhaps I can be more descriptive (and comparative) on some future post, but for now I'm just going to enjoy the break-in ride and let them settle-in a bit.
