I think visually the M series is nicer, especially the M6 , much better / slick looking then the bulky Q 7 .( and smoother for those soundwaves off course .)

I enjoyed the "bulky" aspect of the Q7. IMHO more discrete than the fancy curves of the new M's series.

Fair enough, though not sure what the reference to Taiko intended to convey - it is NOT a mature product, and very much a work in progress and will be for quite some time. Promising apparently, quite promising perhaps, but not exactly mature to these eyes.

In the high-tech industry a product is considered mature when the platform on which it is built is getting old and further enhancements are no longer viable. The next step after mature is obsolete, then out-of-support. When a product is mature, R&D resources are shifted to other projects
If you look at the Taiko Extreme, most users bought a SoTA server based on Roon. That has since been further developed with the addition of proprietary software, improved USB output etc, giving users several free enhancements and a major sound quality upgrade. I would guess that there’s not a single Extreme user looking foreward to the day their server reaches mature status.

Magico is the exception to the RLR line up. Magico has dealers throughout the US so it doesn't work for the RLRs to stock Magico speakers in the various RLR locations. The exception to this rule is the M9. DFW and Rhapsody.Audio will have the M9s available for demonstration powered by Pilium.

Rhapsody.Audio in NYC IS a Magico dealer, so we have A1s, A3s, A5, M2s and M3s available for demonstration. The other seven RLR locations will focus on Pilium driving Alsyvox, Bayz and Diesis.

Hello Bob, Thanks for the kind words. That all makes sense with the various Magico models. It seems that you have a good business plan going, and one that is unique. Best wishes for your continued success and with the new RLR locations.

And the M 9 use no more " standard alu " but a more sophisticated honey comb alu for the cabinet, lighter / easier to handle probably also , and it ll sound different

Since the latest addition of the new Taiko USB card and the TAS usb sw drivers became available, Roon went from going downhill sound wise, to a STELLAR sonic performer.

With the TAS SW, we are probably at the infancy of the future that it will bring in future years. I would not consider TAS a mature product by any means.

And there you have it - this is why I think it's still a work in progress: the JUST released USB, the JUST released drivers, Roon was going downhill till now; "we are at the ... infancy"... Stable it may be, but it's still evolving in significant ways from an execution and sonic perspective. Let's carry on

I have had Pilium and Taiko Extreme in my system for several months and they have performed as well as any “mature” component I have owned during my 30+ years in audio. I have heard this combo on Magico, Alsyvox, Bayz and Diesis with great results.
Bobvin, you are among only a handful of people fortunate enough to hear the M-9’s with Pilium. Your observations are appreciated and it’s great to share in your enthusiasm for these wonderful products.

No harm in discussing the point. Actually the more I think about it, every thing I have said would not be accurately portrayed as "mature". I should have said it from the start- what I was thinking was an "established product" vs. a mature product.

I feel that the Extreme is a VERY established product in the global market in a short period of time. I think Pilium is just at the cusp of becoming an established brand.....stay tuned.

Alright, I'm not trying to be a tease, just have a crazy day today. I will, however, say the M9s driven by the Pilium electronics ought to be considered a redefinition of what is possible in reproducing recorded music. From the first few notes it was apparent this was an exceptionally special system. Compared to what I heard of the WAMMs it was much more musical.

I will say, however, the room I heard the WAMMs in was nothing like hearing Alon's listening room. And the WAMM were powered by Dagostino which I've heard many, many times. The Dag gear and I have never really "got" each other. Like dating that hot chick where you really wanted it to click, but you just never quite had good energy together. That is NOT going to be a problem with the Pilium gear. We get each other just fine. I am very, very, very excited and looking forward to turning people on to the Pilium electronics. I am confident once people hear it they will agree—there is something special going on for SS electronics, there is some sense of liquidity and flow that gets you closer to the music, immediately.

Did I mention the M9s are simply F'n AMAZING. Oh what a joy it would be to be able to afford such a speaker. Everything changes after hearing those.

Both my travelling buddy and I noticed, upon entering Alon's room, there was a real similar feel to my own room. Alon's room probably a bit more lively than my own, it is also quite a bit larger, but feel of the room very similar. Bonnie Schnitta, of SoundSense who designed my room puts a premium on not only great sound but wants to create a room that "feels" good. It was a nice bit of confirmation picking up the same gestalt in Alon's space.

This gnomic language was only tacked on to allow some degree of focus to be returned to the raw impressions from Bob East's West's trip spurring discussion on various equipment pairings. There is an oddity among computer users where they intertwine with the operations of their hardware into a comfortable pattern. So long as the desired usage never exceeds capability, playback of music using integral software, EOL can be the deciding factor for replacement. I felt the absolute statement Extreme train was leaving the station with no one aboard at some point in the foreseeable future bore further inspection. Once again I'd defer to those better placed to comment if the current level of maturity is already seeing Extreme dumped onto the aftermarket.

I remember a sea kayak vacation where we spent a couple weeks off the west coast of Vancouver Island. You can’t exactly fit a cooler and a grill in a sea kayak, so canned food and freeze dried food, granola (gorp), etc made up rations for too many days. Love the fact Magico design allows for placement where a ported speaker wouldn‘t be optimal. But, it looks like a squeeze to flip the LP!
